Bad policy was on day one of being in office Biden signing a record amount of executive orders many against big energy. This caused a rise in oil prices, gas prices to go up, transportation costs to go up, the cost of everything to go up on store shelves and of course record inflation. Thats the self inflicted inflation that happened and I worried about. Ya the strawman I’m ignoring.

There’s been two attempts on trumps life already and their violently trying to destroy musks companies. Not sure why anyone would be surprised by this.

What are your thoughts on globalization? On which countries will lead the implementation of globalization? On being self sufficient or not self sufficient when it happens ? On being able to have a secure food source, energy sources, technology and raw materials sources and safety? On not having to rely on a China for all our electronics?

Elon Musk came out in support of getting to the point where Europe and the US go zero/zero on tariffs. Separating himself from Trump a bit regarding tariffs.

And what is wrong with strengthening the manufacturing jobs we currently do have? There’s a reason why the auto unions and some others are supporting the tariffs.

Eventually getting to even tariffs for everyone on both sides.

My father, a veteran of two wars and a lifer in the national guard was very proud of the benefits he received. He used to brag about them to me. Having taken him to a number of appointments there was a very noticeable difference in the capabilities and concern from the nurses and drs. Some of equipment used was also outdated and even broken. When it came time to get hearing aids he ordered them and waited six months. When they arrived they didn’t work. He sent them back and again waited six months for them to return. This while he easily could have afforded them on his own. When it came time for elder care and rehab of course he wanted to do it at the VA. He was checked into a small room with another patient that was divided by a curtain. While my mom and sister were visiting him his roommate was delivered a can of beer. Upon finishing it he stood up and pissed in the drain on the floor under the curtain. The stains on the floor showed that this wasn’t the first time it had happened. When I arrived I put him in a wheel chair, drove him to an elderly care facilty and checked him in. He wasn’t one to thank people or to ever show emotion. He did both on that day. I’m glad there are people that are having decent interactions but there are many that don’t. Imo they’re run terribly and no where near the standards our veterans deserve.

If you haven’t ever been in one go Visit a Veterans hospital. The concept is a marvelous one as they’re gov funded and “free” to the great people that signed up to protect this country. They deserve far better. A VA is what a hospital becomes when it’s run by the government. Crapholes.

That’s the beauty. Everyone gets an opinion. I’m of the belief that you have more leverage to start with blanket tariffs and then move to targeted tariffs. It’s like when one side of Congress stuffs a whole bunch of pork in a bill and then barters with the other side on gives and takes. It’s why when a company and a union have discussions they each have a list of things they want or don’t want and work towards a compromised agreement. Is there risk? 100% but There are 50 countries lined up to negotiate right now and I think many will work out a deal in order to avoid the pain. And I’d much rather be negotiating as the largest economy in the world than not. Trump has five things that he feels are needed for a nation to be self sufficient. I believe the blanket tariffs will move to targeted tariffs on that agenda.
