  1. Draw for the FS Asian championship https://khanehkoshti.ir/قرعه-کشی-کشتی-آزاد-قهرمانی-آسیا؛-تاج-ال/
  2. 5 gold and 3 silver for Iran GR team in the Asian championship https://khanehkoshti.ir/ایران-قهرمان-مسابقات-کشتی-فرنگی-بزرگس/
  3. Yes, in the first group, they went 1-3, and only Hedayati got gold https://khanehkoshti.ir/نتایج-پنج-وزن-نخست-نمایندگان-کشورمان-د/ In the second group of 5, 4 more made it into the finals https://khanehkoshti.ir/کشتی-فرنگی-قهرمانی-آسیا؛اسماعیلی،-سه/ I am assuming you can use google translate to read the results. If that is not the case, let me know, and I will translate the details
  4. 4 make the finals in Asian GR championship https://khanehkoshti.ir/کشتی-فرنگی-بزرگسالان-قهرمانی-آسیا؛-4-نم/
  5. I agree that David Schultz would have been the favorite in 84, even with USSR, other soviet block countries, and Iran in the field.
  6. 1. John Smith 2x Olympic Champ, 4x World Champ. 181-10 wrestling record with a 95% win rate. He beat 45 World/Olympic medalists during his career and retired at 26. So he probably could've kept it rolling if he didn't start coaching. John Smith's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/john-smith/ 2. Jordan Burroughs 1x Olympic Champ, 6x World Champ, 3x World Bronze. 248-21 wrestling record with a 92% win rate. He's beaten 70 World/Olympic medalists in his career so far. JB is definitely the modern era GOAT, having to take out Kyle Dake and David Taylor multiple times to make the US team. JB's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/jordan-burroughs/ 3. Dave Schultz 1x Olympic Champ, 1x World Champ, 3x World Silver, 2x World Bronze. 489-88-1 wrestling record with an 85% win rate. He beat 53 World/Olympic medalists during his career. He holds the US record for most senior level freestyle wins, and is the only American to win the Tbilisi tournament twice. His 1984 gold medal may have an Asterix, but he was deprived from wrestling in the 1980s Olympics which he most likely would have won, and his Tbilisi gold may be as good if not better than an Olympic gold medal 4. David Taylor Overall Record: 158-23 Win Percentage: 87.29% Pins: 28 Techs: 69 Once he peaked, he was unbeatable. 1 Olympic gold, 3 world golds, one world silver, one world bronze. He dominated one of the best wrestlers of all time, Hassan Yazdani, and would have won more gold it if were not for his injury. David Taylor's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/david-taylor/ 5. Bruce Baumgartner 4 Olympic medals, including two golds. Enough said! Overall Record: 361-39 Win Percentage: 90.25% Pins: 75 Techs: 79 Bruce Baumgartner's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/bruce-baumgartner/
  7. https://khanehkoshti.ir/ترکیب-تیمهای-کشتی-آزاد-و-فرنگی-در-مسا/ iran representatives at the Asia championship in Jordan
  8. Goleij manages to lose to Snyder in the last seconds again. Arash Yoshida beats Snyder and then beats Alizadeh in the finals to win gold
  9. Two golds by Momeni and Amouzad, Emami gets bronze. Goleij and Snyder will meet in the first round
  10. Qatar also hired an Iranian Coach for their national team. I am OK with it, as long as they are not taking the top wrestlers. I love the idea of having multiple Iranians in the world championship and Olympics. To be fair, hiring a coach from Iran is an investment in their wrestling. I agree a better way to invest in wrestling is to do what India did about 10-20 years ago. They hired coaches from Iran, Georgia and elsewhere, and developed talent.
  11. Khuzestan wins the GR Iran cadet championship. It's remarkable how Mazandaran dominates freestyle, and Khuzestan dominates GR. https://khanehkoshti.ir/خوزستان-قهرمان-کشتی-فرنگی-نوجوانان-کش/
  12. 14 Dagestanis will be in the Albania ranking series, representing 7 countries. Bahrain has three of them. https://khanehkoshti.ir/حضور-۱۴-آزادکار-داغستانی-در-تورنمنت-رن/ Just imagine of the weak Qajar king of Persia, had not lost Dagestan to Russia in the 1813 war of Persia- Russia. Iran would be a true world power in wrestling.
  13. I think he will start at 92 and move to 97 in time for the Olympics I think the big question is “ can he recover from two major shoulder surgeries” Most have not
  14. Iran representatives at the Albania ranking series https://khanehkoshti.ir/بر-اساس-لیست-اتحادیه-جهانی-کشتی،-ایران/
  15. I agree with you about the unfairness of the decision i do think Khalil has great potential, but should not be given the spot automatically
  16. Great video summary of the results of the second half of Freestyle, include an interview with Massoumi, where he talks about Gable Stevenson
  17. I really do not know. I know I would LOVE to see Masoumi get good enough to pass Zare, but so far, their matches are a bit one sided. Reminds me a bit of the Yazdani/Ghassempour rivalry. But I am only speaking for myself, no idea, what the sentiment in Iran is.
  18. For anyone keeping track, US took first place, Iran took second, and Azerbaijan took third https://khanehkoshti.ir/جام-اوپن-زاگرب؛-۴-طلا-و-۴-نقره-ایران-را-ن/
  19. Thanks for all the updates Overall, this has been a pretty good tournament for Iran. I had high hopes for Khalili, Khateri, Rezai and Khoramdel. But they are all pretty young, and hopefully this will be a learning experience.
  20. I think a healthy Yazdani will defeat Azarpira. Very few people have come back from one major should surgery, and he has had two.
  21. Great to have you back! hope wrestfan will show up too
  22. 18 year old Sina Khalil destroys Amir Reza Yazdani https://youtu.be/JZkKVNCdBCE?feature=shared
