  1. The TD in OT maybe but the TD in the second period was in part created because he dropped to a knee. Should we make wrist controls stalling in neutral since I am using them to limit your offense?
  2. I understand the argument of dropping to a knee being stalling but the match last night is a poor choice to illustrate dropping to a knee as stalling. Ferrari was the more offensive wrestler. I disagree that simply going to a knee is stalling. Wrestlers can stay offensive while on one knee.
  3. Anyone willing to put a wager? I will bet on O’toole over whoever PSU puts out at 174.
  4. If wrestling were like swimming Lopez would have been able to enter into all of the Greco weights. The various swimming events equate to the different weight classes in my mind. Similar to the multiple events in gymnastics. Lastly, he did not have access to any team/relay medals. Assuming he won every Greco-Roman weight class, he would have earned 32 Gold medals throughout the last 5 Olympics. Let's say he gets tired and loses 4 or 5 matches. He would have earned 28 Gold medals. In my mind, the better metric when comparing the different relative success is the gold medal percentage.
  5. Does that mean that there will be 30 scholarships? Never mind. Just clicked on the link. That is a huge increase to the number of scholarships. Could that benefit wrestling?
  6. Several Mizzou matches are interesting to me but I am a biased alumni. Surtain and Poulin is a rematch from the 2023 Big 12 finals. Moore and Bailey will be entertaining. Edmond vs Henson in part due to Henson's MU ties. Gioffre could put Watters in danger. Mauller vs Travis. Travis' father wrestled at Mizzou. Is Mocco healthy enough to return to form? Hawks vs Kane is a rematch from the first round of NCAA 2023. Hawks can go with anyone in the bracket.
  7. What are the most intriguing matches that are scheduled to happen on Thursday?
  8. The easy answer is to get rid of at-large bids. If you want to qualify, you have to place at your conference tournament. If you are unable to compete, then I am sorry but injuries happen. If Starrocci knew he had to place in the top 8 at his conference tournament then he would have had to decide if he was good enough to wrestle or not.
  9. The irony of your post is amazing. I doubt Coach Sanderson would appreciate the idea that he allows "them" to thrive. Do "they" have to ask him for permission to improve? Your inherent racism is showing.
  10. Why not make it a combined formula? They currently use a formula. 50%. School's weight class record 20%. Head to head. 15%. Coaches ranking 15%. RPI
  11. Where does Sean Hage fall into this category? He won 8 Fargo titles.
  12. I have used wrestlestate to look at rankings and to compare in duals. Does it have a feature that I could build a tournament with 6 teams and compare? Can I include non-starters?
  13. Has anyone done a preview of the Tiger Style Invite this weekend? The teams include Cal Poly, Lindenwood, Little Rock, Maryland, Missouri, and SIUE. I follow Mizzou but not the other programs closely. I would anticipate some quality matches wrestled by nonstarters. I did a quick scan of Flo's rankings and this is the list I came up with. I apologize if I missed anyone. 125. #16 and #18. 133. #28 141. #18 149. #5(157?), #15, and #16 157. #5 (from 149?), #22, and #28(??) 165. #1, 174. #6, #18 184. #10, 197. #4, #8, #18, HWT. #6, #23, #24, and #31
  14. Not often but that makes it a great story. What was Ramos ranked when he pinned Lee?
  15. I think a dual meet championship would bring an exciting component because it provides opportunities for more upsets. Basketball March Madness is exciting because there is an opportunity for upsets. I do not care if the "best team" wins every year. I would love to see upsets and drama. The 15th-ranked wrestler pins the number 1-ranked wrestler and all of a sudden the 20th-ranked dual team has a chance to beat the 3rd-ranked dual team. I also believe some coaches in power do not want a dual meet championship for the very same reason.
