  1. True, but doesn't that seem like something is wrong (stay on your back to win) - STINKS
  2. It doesn't need to be 5 sec; after holding wrestler in exposure, start a visual count (like college). He's already gotten 2 pts for exposure, but after a visual count of 2 is reached then add an additional 2pts. How can staying on your back ever be acceptable in wrestling (it is contrary to the very essence of the sport) case in point- Look at the last 20 sec of the Ridge Lovett vs Henson semis match at the Open. Henson is down by 5 and hits a 4 pt double, but Lovett just stayed on his back so that no turn could result in more points. He was protected by not bellying down.
  3. Movahed (sp)
  4. Have you ever seen a point given for grabbing the singlet in UWW competition? I've seen straps torn in half, and no penalty. Think about it, if the ref doesn't make that call with 6 sec on the clock, in all probability, Taylor wins a second Olympic gold medal.
  5. Still not as bad as Roy Jones vs S Korea in gold medal bout, 88 Olympics
  6. You don't penalize 6 officials if the call was correct; Chamizo is right. Definitely old-school screw job; when in the host country's venue, their wrestlers win all close calls.
  7. 1. The 'grounded' situation has been abused and is currently quite arbitrary. Make it simpler, if opponent is standing and then drops to assume 'grounded' position and then goes out, point should be awarded. 2. How can anyone justify a win by criteria with a 1-1 score, both scores coming via the shot clock. Look at J'den Cox's lone win and tell me he deserved the victory. Happens too often especially in Greco. And the sad thing is that most often the first guy put on the clock is the main Staller, but obligatory shot call to the other guy comes in the 2nd pd, and he loses even when he's more active. Side note- ugliest win in the tournament McKenna vs Bartlett (must watch)
