  1. It was produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's prouction company. They made "Air", the movie about the origins of Air Jordans. I have not seen it, but heard its very good, so I think this movie seems very promising.
  2. Is Nick Lee done competing now that he is coaching? I would think that him or Mendez would have a great shot at 65.
  3. Have pools every been tried at the Olympics? I think it would be a solution to get some of the wrestlers a few more matches and give a better idea of who is the best at that given event.
  4. Last week got me thinking about the structure of wrestling at the Oylimpics. I have always heard it is structured how it is because of number of matches, time, number of atheletes. The double bronze, to get more countries represented in the medals. So with that I was brainstorming options for the set-up of wrestling. So would you rather have.... A.Structure as is, bracket and repechage, double bronze B. 6 weights, full wrestle backs to a true third. C. 10 weight classes, but no repechage or wrestle backs. Wreslte to the semis, if you win you go for 1st/2nd losers in semis wrestle for 3rd/4th D. 6 Weights, wreslters in pools of 4. Pool top two advance, wreslte 8 man bracket to gold, silver, bronze E. 10 weights, wrestlers in pools of 4. Only pool winner advances, 4 man bracket, winners go 1/2, losers 3/4 Obviously there are a ton of other options, so f you have any that you think would work the best please share.
  5. Can anyone explain how/ if these changes will effect these levels of wrestling? Are they still working under the same rules as before? Curious what changes we could see here with the new rules?
  6. Im just curious if this means he is done competing, or can he do both?
  7. Curious if anyone knows where you could find a list of D1 teams that are "fully funded" or one that lays out how many scholarships each are working with. I always assumed it was 9.9 or none (Ivy League), but it seems like there is more variance than that.
  8. Is there any reason for why swimming gets so many events and athletes? Is it just simply TV popularity? Is it a governing body issue?
  9. Speaking of this topic, are the entrants set? I thought I had heard something on FRL about Gable possibly still being involved a few weeks ago. Could he still participate? If not is he done for this cycle?
  10. Totally agree with Texas, Florida, and California. Two states with a solid wrestling culture, at least on the youth level would be Kansas and Washington.
