  1. I'm right more often than not. Yes, I took out a lot of cash b4 inauguration. That cash has done better than s&p. Trump let true professionals negotiate w China this time instead of his "art of the deal" bs. If he starts doing that mire often, then I'll reconsider my prediction of additional tanking of markets.
  2. I actually sold after it had come up quite a bit from the lows. I've come out ahead so far w the trump regimes market. He'll tank it again. Guaranteed.
  3. Went up today. It will go back down. Fortunately for him, he sent professionals to negotiate w China, but it's only temporary. Market is still down since inauguration and we'll see additional dips in near future. I'm not sweating it. He's a screw up. Plain and simple.
  4. I am a Reagan conservative. The GOP went off the deep end to the rt though, leaving me a liberal ( since the democrats moved rt also).
  5. Kids are in college or almost in college so I got extra time now.
  6. Just an decent but not spectacular 40 hr per week job using my M.S. I'll leave it at that. I do some stuff on the side too though. I officiate 5 sports including wrestling and do AI fact checking for Hurix Digital. Geology curriculum. I'm getting into some part time consulting soon too. I work pretty hard...for a liberal.
  7. They won't touch any big programs. They're a joke.
  8. No, its more. That's why the fund is going insolvent. It's paying out more than it brings in. It's simple math. Yes, there is overhead but no avoiding that.
  9. Its calculated based upon your historical earnings but the money comes from current workers.
  10. Yes. Upon amounts withheld from other people's checks. I don't collect that for several years yet. I'll get what I get though and I'm not counting on much.
  11. I think that's a great way to balance the social security budget.
  12. More like $11.50 per hr but they aren't even working so what a dumb argument to talk about it like it's a 40 hr workweek. It's a 0 hr workweek. So it's $2k per month for doing jack squat.
  13. No they don't. Most of them end up drawing much more than they pay in. What an entitlement mentality.
  14. If your stupid idea passes I could, but fortunately most politicians can see what a dumb idea it is.
  15. Mom could move in with me at some point anyway. Getting older.
  16. So only people that can afford to pay off their mortgage should be exempt and those that are still in debt should pay all the property taxes? Are you high again?
  17. But this is ok. The hypocrisy of the right at it again...
  18. NOBODY keeps 100% of what they earn. Taxes are part of the real world.
  19. That's funny when the highest marginal fed tax rate is much lower than that. Wow you need a new accountant.
  20. You are entitled to it but land is a finite resource that everybody wants. Therefore you gotta pay your taxes on it. It's very simple. Good luck finding an affordable lot to purchase after they become tax exempt. An ounce of gold will be worth a,square cm of land.
  21. It's your problem you live in openly corrupt Chicago. That was your choice. Vast majority of cities aren't nearly that bad.
  22. Social security can be easily fixed. Increase premiums and/or eliminate benefits for rich people. It's very simple.
  23. Retirees already get social security. Why put even more burden on young families than they already have? Retirees don't need 3 bedroom homes w 1/4 acre to themselves. They're not "entitled" to anything. If they can't afford the home taxes then they'll be perfectly fine in a condo or apartment. This will still drive up home prices quite a bit because the elderly will refuse to ever leave their homes. More young families get stuck in apartments. Land ( that you can live on) is a finite resource so this absolutely impacts house prices, making the rich richer.
  24. Those are ok but the taxes on land and buildings are still the greatest of all taxes. The true KING of taxes. These are great in so many ways, assuming that you realize that taxes are 100% necessary anyway.
  25. How many states DONT have property taxes? After you answer that one, then you may want to think about why.
