  1. He’d do damage at Drexel. Great local reputation, 5-year curriculum with an embedded practicum that’d be perfect for a redshirt year, solid financial aid for good tri-state students. One can dream! I do think he’d start a dynasty at Rutgers. I just can’t see him leaving Wawa territory.
  2. Should 28 minute matches be legal?
  3. Main event is Dake/Zahid, for sure, but I’m most interested in Duke/Yianni. It seems like everything’s finally coming together after a few bumpy years for Yianni, and PJ is on a tear. Carr/Mesenbrink should be the most fun to watch, but I’m expecting a blowout. Great time to be a wrestling fan!
  4. Wanna say here that I haven’t attended church in nearly a decade, completely believe in separation of church and state, and have not downloaded the Bible app, even at my grandmother’s insistence. but God is on our money, in our Pledge of Allegiance, and used as a reasoning tool for policy. We are, ostensibly, a Christian-focused nation. (We Are.. also Penn State) I don’t think Christianity should be everyone’s answer, but if it’s someone’s.. power to them. Whatever helps them sleep at night. Literally, in Dake’s case, it seems. Any harm in proclaiming that when asked about how he keep’s going?
  5. 7 notifications on a Sunday? I’ll leave it, thank you
  6. What do people want wrestlers & athletes to believe in, if not their faith? The United States is a Christian-focused country, and a lot of its upper echelon will proclaim their faith as their driving factor. Is this not probably the same in other countries with their corresponding religion? Instead of going to a dark place and becoming an asshole during a rough patch of life, he leaned on faith. Do we have to hate that?
  7. Actually, the IOC changed rules on this after acclaimed artist T-Pain, on his track “Blame It (On the Alcohol)” once said: “I'ma take a shot of Nuvo, shawty, didn't you know / It's goin' down, we can go and kick it like Judo”
  8. I love these videos. I always hope I’m gonna run into a guy doing these. Just as long as he’s not homeless
  9. You get a lot more interesting stories at the club and NAIA level. As a young adult, you have a lot more things to think about than a sport; kids to feed, dreams to pursue, families to uplift.. D1 doesn’t allow much grace for that. I really do wish there was more holistic coverage in wrestling. We have space for it as a fringe sport. Would love to hear more about the guys that can’t necessarily live the sheltered lifestyle of a full time career, but still get after it.
  10. Glazier taking out Ferrari has gotta be the biggest upset outside of 125lbs so far, no?
  11. Didn’t watch it yet, but found this from yesterday on a quick search:
  12. A lot of these athletes are working while wrestling. Chris Campbell was working full-time at a law firm when he medaled at worlds. They ended up finding out through a news clip, and then subsidized his training leading up to the Olympics!
  13. Clarissa Chun turned a first year program into the top ranked program pretty fast with a young roster. Who wouldn’t be excited to end up in Iowa City?
  14. The more inclusive term would be ‘Italianx.’ Please get with the times.
  15. I beg to differ. Those sharpie signatures are gonna last forever. Got a few dry erase boards to prove it.
