All their fringe guys end up qualifying (Voinovich, Arnold, Block).

Drake beats Byrd

Bailey beats Oliveri

Only Dean Pete lost

This shows the Brands still have the fire and need to stick around.  The team will be ready for NCAAs and HOT TAKE - they win a team trophy this year.

No, drake won that match despite bad coaching by brands, baileys win perhaps involved some good coaching. They have looked good today, but the amount of mistakes made by coaching staff yesterday alone cannot go unnoticed. The staff costs block both matches imo at the very minimum for sure his last match yesterday. And the decision to go with VV still has proven a mistake

Reports of Iowa's demise are greatly exaggerated

Of all people to claim exaggeration, you JC are not allowed. Half of your topic headlines are "greatly exaggerated" including this one

I will give u credit to the point that he was well coached in that match

BTW, I posted this about 90 seconds before the match was over.  Mirasola had nothing after the failed TD the first period.  Not sure how he did not convert that.

Kinda seemed like he didn't have much grass from the start. Injury? Or just first big ten tourney wearing him out?

He’s the smallest heavyweight in the field. That doesn’t bode well for long tournaments. It will be worse over three days of NCAAs

Iowa has officially qualified 10 for nationals...honestly impressive work by the Brands this year given the adversity.  This needs to be recognized.

Na,  I can recognize that they did good today for the most part. But one day of having some food backside warrior, which I love. Does not make up for issues they faced and have faced in previous seasons. If this is a turning point for the brands then good, but I doubt they fixed all there issues in one night

It doesn't mean they're going to challenge for the top 3 but it shows the Brands and their guys are improving and haven't given up the fight.  That means a lot.

For right now I would go with them not giving up the fight is the main thing shows. I would say they wrestled to there potential today instead of below it.

I also think Iowa should, and hope they will, keep the Brands around as long as possible. But I don’t see much of a path in finishing ahead of PSU/tOSU/OSU/Nebby in two weeks. Possibly Nebraska

tOSU has kind of fizzled.  Nebby has outperformed in my opinion but Allred getting hurt is concerning.

Not giving up the fight means the coaches are getting in the athletes heads. Been a tough year in Iowa room. Don’t think any other coaches could bet getting out of the wrestlers what T and T are getting right now

Well I'm just gonna disagree, I have my reasons and I have listed them many times in different forums. I'm glad you have another opinion on it and I can certainly see where you are coming from, but I still see Iowa in a downward trend in development, recruiting, and many other things that head coaches are responsible for.

What?! Fizzled how? Just look at the team scores. They’re ~10 points behind PSU at the moment, probably be 20-25 when this is over. That’s not bad. The OSU’s will be the most anticipated race at NCAA’s. Based on seeds I thought OSU has slightly exceeded and Nebraska just under.
