A lot has been made about PJ's weight and that this is the only year he can go 157. I was doing some trackwrestling digging and saw that in January of his Junior year he weighed in at 161.4, I do not assume he was cutting at all but one would presume a 17 year old did some growing to 19 year old. That also made me wonder about how often hes been making 70kg or 154. If he wrestles u23's he will have done 6 2 day weigh ins at 70kg and 1 single day between mid April and mid October. Now that's nothing like a college season but it leads me to assume hes been making at least 1 or 2 hard pulls a month for 6-7 months. That in and of itself is not super concerning but then he will go straight from u23's into the college season where he is going to make 157 for another 5 months. For a kid that is presumably still growing even with the best team around him it seems very difficult to hold your weight down for essentially an entire year. Perhaps the cut is not even that bad and it wont really matter but it was just something that I was thinking about and wanted to get others thoughts.

Looking as good as he has at 70kg especially with a few 2 day weigh ins in there I think an extra 3 pounds and he'll be fine for a college season.

I think he will just need to avoid putting on weight because his body is going to be a sponge from being in such a restricted state for so long. I think that is what happened to levi once he decided 157 was no longer an option. u23's could actually benefit him in that he wont have much time to get big involuntarily. I more so worry about the pull coupled with the grind of the season if his body just is not able to recover properly as the season winds on.
