Phenomenal young wrestler, knows how to win, but good God almighty were his matches boring. Aside from the 4 pointer against Bo Bassett, he seems very content to win the shot clock battle.  Was a bit surprising to me he didn't put it on some guys. I know I'm probably being too harsh, but anyone else feeling this? Is he gonna be somebody with tremendous abilities that goes the frustrating "do nothing" Bartlett route, or will PSU get him to open up and get some bonus points? Perhaps it was just due to the caliber of competition? Lemme hear your thoughts!

Yeah he could be a mini Starocci, but let's hope he opens up more as he matures

My hope is that he was just tentative to take a shot against bigger, stronger opponents. I don't remember him being so brutal to watch at 61kg. But I felt the same way, I almost created a thread wondering if we found Bartlett's heir apparent. If he wrestles at 141 next year, I fear that we may be in line for some brutal matches. What's the opposite of guns Blaze-ing? Guns holstered? Might have to start workshopping a nickname just in case.

Haha okay not just me then. Felt a little bad being critical since he's a high schooler but man I hope he opens up. Guns holstered it is right now. Speaking off... He holds his arms at an angle I've never really seen before. Kinda like a praying mantis look. Is he just super lanky?

No, you're the bad guy that I didn't want to be.  I figured cut him some slack. He's a high schooler wrestling up a weight, but you opened the door and I figured I'd back you up. I'm sure you feel the same way, he's obviously a super talent and no part of me is doubting how successful he can be, but I think it's fair to say that his style this weekend was "cautious," to put it politely. I didn't notice his arms being in too unusual of a position. I'll have to watch for it next time.

He reminds me a bit of Mark Hall. Both phenoms in freestyle early that relied more on holding pristine positioning and capitalizing on opponent's mistakes
