AJ Ferrari the most egregious example of not being punished by getting the 1.

Ethen Miller in line for the 1.

Closest I can think of is Teemer being penalized for missing an extended period of time due to injury (and maybe the coaches felt OK with putting him at 4 with Miller as the 1).

 

But overall it appears that sitting out matches was rewarded in seeding.

To be fair Ethan Miller did only sit out one match (I think) and it was against an opponent that he had already beaten.

But if he lost that match in the dual he probably doesn’t get the 1…

I get it. I wish he would have wrestled also. It is just not nearly as egregious as refusing to wrestle an opponent that you know you will lose to in order to protect seeding.
