Sounds crazy, but currently I think it might be true if we are measuring on their performance this season so far.

1. Mesenbrink.  Literally tech falled EVERYONE including the flame-haired Greek God #2 Michael Caliendo.

2. Kasak.  I think he should be ranked #1 after beating Teemer.

3. Starocci.  Less than impressive in squeaking out a win vs a redshirt Ferrari.

4. Kerk. If not for the presence of Steveon he might be higher on the list.

5. SVN.  Dominant major win over #2 Parco.  I think he can beat Lovett.

6. Haines.  Solid season so far, still favor KOT over him.

7. Barr.  Looked small vs Buchannon and clearly got big brothered on bottom.

8. Bartlett.  Undefeated but capable of losing to any of the top guys.

9. Lilledahl.  Nice to see him break out the offense.  Still have a considerable gap between him and the top 125 pounders.

10. Davis.  I still have him as a 2-2 guy in March until he shows me more.

I was about to say you had some sound logic on this one until I noticed this.  Good season so far, but not good enough to place him over 4 NCAA titles.

Except I'm ranking them solely based on this season's performance so far.

Fair enough, but even then, the win over Keck is infinitely more impressive than a win over Teemer.

Except that match technically doesn't count since it was an all-star match.

You didn't ask if the results that count were better, you asked if he was 3rd best.

Willie has the anti Starocci crowd nailed spot on. They think other guys are close to beating him wen they clearly are not.

I'm not anti-Starocci. I think he wins his 5th title in March.  I just think MM and Kasak are having better seasons so far.

I don't think a season's results measure the better wrestler. All weights are relative, you can't exclude the keck win if you are asking who the better wrestler is. If the question was who is having the better collegiate season, I still don't know that I would agree but you would have more of an argument. Kasak had a barn burner with a true freshman from Lehigh if we are calling the Ferrari match "squeaked out".
