A Univision/YouGov survey in Pennsylvania shows that 69% of respondents considered comments defining Puerto Rico as “a floating island of garbage” to be “more racist than humorous.”

Only 17% of respondents viewed the comments as intended jokes rather than serious remarks.

Additionally, 71% of Puerto Ricans felt that, even if intended as a joke, these comments suggest that there is racism within Trump’s campaign.
