Did you guys see Abdevali wrestle in semis? I know it was a 5-1 defeat... curious to know how it really was... I remember how his brother, Saeed, unjustly lost to the French wrestler and in the Asian games I believe  lost to the Korean wrestler, again unfairly.

He got 4'd in parterre in the first period and nothing else happened in the match

Did Iran announce their U23 team for the U23 worlds next month? They didn't compete at the U23 asians so hard to say who is on that team

They often miss U23 Asians for whatever reason. I know Shakeri will go at 74 as he won a trial. He was the junior world champion at 65kg in 2023. Not sure about the rest of the team. I will guess Rahmani at 86.

Anyone wanna chime in on Danial Sohrabi's match against Ebrahim Ganeh of France? Was the ending justified... also the other wrestler, Vafa, lost to Japanese wrestler 5-5... I did not watch it... any comments on that one please

Who are Farokhisenjani’s coaches? Are they both Iranian?

Hossein Rangraz and Farshad Alizadeh are his coaches. They are Iranian and were on the GR team in the 2000s.

Always fun watching 130 kg  Greco guys going for it.

Mirzazadeh wins gold . Congrats

Farokhisenjani  wins gold at 82 kg . In five matches he conceded 1 point only !!  Real impressive .

Shamil Mamedov completed his transfer to Bulgaria. I think he'll be eligible to compete in 2026 . Also he is 2_0 against current champ Amouzad .

The Sohrabi match was an absolute disgrace. Ghanem continuously hit him and made him bleed causing them to run out of injury time so Ghanem won by medical forfeit. The medical staff didn't stop the bleeding in time and just tried to wipe it off when they should have put tape around it from the beginning. Why that isn't protocol from the start I don't know. Ahmadi Vafa was too inexperienced and lost because of that. I'm sure next year he will do better. Him and Payam Ahmadi are future world champions.

Said who? Wasn't Bulgaria one federation that tried to block all the transfers or even transferred athletes like Ramazanov and Novikov? -- why would they allow new transfers in their team, particularly from Dagestan?

This guy  Saeid esmaeili  is a generational talent . A lot of people who love freestyle say  Greco is boring .

I'd say Esmaeili is great to watch and learn from .

Tough final against jafarov tomorrow but  Esmaeili should be a clear favorite .

Here's the quote from the Bulgarian Federation:

The naturalization of Shamil Mamedov is a result of decisions of the previous leadership of the federation and does not affect the current leadership. Although he is a sure medalist of major championships and has a high sports class, he is not registered in the federation and will not be registered by the current leadership. This is in accordance with the policy that is consistently implemented - to impose and develop Bulgarian athletes.

So it sounds like unless Bulgarian Federation leadership (or their position) changes, forget the 2026 worlds -- Shamil Mamedov will never get to wrestle a competitive match in a UWW tournament, or even inother tournaments which would demand a say-so from the national federation from the country he is registered under.

I don't get why though. They already have Ramazanov and his brother . Why not shamil !! Shamil has two wins over amouzad.

Bahrain would welcome him in their team anyway.

I don't see why he is trying to transfer. He is young and probably better than the guy they sent this year. If I am correct he did not take part in their trials due to an injury. I'm guessing he would be the favourite to win the spot for Russia at 65 next year.

Maybe he just hates having to make a team or has a beef with the Russian federation because they made him miss the Olympics?
