  3. I like this idea. We already do something similar in freestyle with the red and blue singlets. Wrestling could take the approach of most college football teams and wear their school's primary colored singles while the away team wears a primarily white singlet with a trim of their primary colors. It would get tricky in tournaments but could be solved with something like the higher seeded guy always wearing his team's home singlet.
  4. Where did you see that Hughes is beating Jamison? I heard Hughes barely beat Burton in the wrestle-off but I don't know how reliable that source was.
  5. Where are you getting information on their wrestle offs?
  6. Funny I have the same opinion on these two specific teams going into this season. I think both teams have a lot of potential but also a lot of question marks. Both teams have guys that didn't compete last year, moved up/down in weight, and/or it's their first year with the team. I'm excited to see Byrd back, I think he is a top 3 caliber wrestler. Also excited for Attasauov and Webster to take the mat. Additionally, I think the Braunagel brothers should definitely be in the All-American discussion for this year. As for this dual, I would think that Illinois would be the safer bet considering all the question marks OU has right now. Can Belton, Picklo, and Hill be healthy moving down a weight? Is Mosha fully healthy? Can Wiley and McDougald breakthrough and be consistent? Both of them have impressive wins with head-scratching losses. We also don't know what kind of shape/level Lorenzo and Parker are at since we didn't see them wrestle at all last year. Either way, I'm excited to see these teams in action this year!
  7. No bedlam in Stillwater? That's unfortunate
  8. Fair take. Trackwrestling weight certifications show Cael at 133, Tagen at 141, Young at 149, Teague at 157, and Fish at 157. I know those don't tell the whole story but it is consistent with what the official OK State roster shows. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I hear that Cael and Tagen have pretty rough cuts, I'm assuming Fish would too. Curious to see what Taylor's approach is with those tough weight cuts.
  9. OK State potential matchups: 133: Hughes vs. Witcraft/McComas 141: Tagen vs. Hughes 149: Tagen vs. Young 157: Travis v. Fish 197: Surber vs. Merrill All of these really depend on who redshirts and what weight guys intend to go. I wouldn't be surprised if Travis goes down to 149 and challenges.
  10. Cody Merrill listed at 197 on Okie State's official roster. Does he get the nod over Surber??
  11. I'm not convinced that Fish can for sure beat Travis for the 157 spot. Either way, the cowboys would have a solid competitor at that weight.
  12. you're right, my bad
  13. Star going 197 probably
