At Lehigh, Crookham was a talented student athlete who defeated a national champion and world medalist. People were rooting for a return to health and for a home where he could pursue his wrestling and academic goals. Now he is a Hawkeye and some will view him differently.

Or add a 220 class and change 285 back to heavyweight. A wrestler might think twice about bumping to heavyweight if Chris Taylor was waiting for him - or even someone with the strength and size of a major college / NFL lineman.

Eiermann, the guy you want to make message board fodder, had a great career at Missouri and Iowa. In his final season he suffered a knee injury in a dual against Nebraska (meniscus and ACL tear). He wore a gigantic brace the rest of the season and tried to salvage the season. He was an injury forfeit in his final NCAA match. Eierman expressed gratitude for his career, stating he "gave it everything I had until my knee couldn't take it anymore".

Eiermann finished 3rd at Missouri, 2nd at Iowa and got worse. Woods finished 6th at Stanford and 2nd at Iowa and got worse. Aj finished 3rd at Bakersfield and 6th at Nebraska and got better. Makes perfect sense.

List of Nebraska transfers who finished 3rd or better: List of Iowa transfers who finished 3rd or better: 2021 Eierman 2nd and Desanto 3rd, 2022 Desanto 3rd, 2023 Woods 2nd, 2025 Buchanan 1st and Caliendo 2nd, 2026 Caliendo 2nd. Pat Lugo was a #1 seed 2020 tournament which was cancelled.
