  1. My apologies. Didn’t see that one come up before I posted.
  2. Don’t sleep on Max McEnelly at 86 too. I think he has a really high ceiling and a lot of potential for growth over the next few years.
  3. Totally get it. It’s a bummer that we even have to ask those questions at this point.
  4. Appreciate the reasonableness. I’m not trying to argue I don’t like the current state of social media, NIL, comp, etc. BUT I’m also a coach at heart and want every kid to find the right place for them.
  5. You asked if the kid was an attention whore. You’re free to your opinion. I’m free to believe that you are sensationalizing the issue.
  6. You’re welcome to criticize. I have no issue with that. I just believe he should make whatever decision is right for him.
  7. I think there’s a couple questions related to what you’ve mentioned here: 1. Why did he change his mind? 2. What’s the financial implications? From my perspective, question 1 is irrelevant. He needs to decide what’s right for him and the answer is really just for my understanding. I’d love to know, but won’t question his decision based on any outcome. Question 2 is fully speculative. That $5mm number seems outlandish to me, but does it really matter? There’s a lot fluctuating now with compensation. Regardless of the numbers, I don’t blame the student athlete for shooting for the optimal payday. There’s no real professional outlet after college. They should get as much as possible. It’s a fair question to ask WHO can play on the same field, but once again - for our understanding of the marketplace, and not any indictment on Bo’s commitment.
  8. Legitimate question, why does it bother any of you guys? If the answer is because you’re Iowa fans, I get it. But let’s not pretend like we all had it figured out at 18. And sure it’s not great for the sport to commit and flip. But he should be worried about what’s right for him at 18, not the sport. IF he has a question about Iowa’s culture and if that’s the right place for him, his development, and his EDUCATION, than he would be short-changing himself not to make a change. At the end of the day, this is a kid (or young man, if you really want to get technical). Let him work out what’s best for him. Unfortunately, there’s a social media and promotional component, but that’s the sad state of current affairs. Cut away the fat, and this is a kid just working out what’s best for his development and growth as an athlete and person.
  9. Definitely not. 1) the kid is a kid. 2) he’s working out the best place for him during the most pivotal point of his life. 3) even if I don’t like the histrionics of social media, he’s been able to build something for himself already. Let him do his thing.
  10. Thank you, this is super helpful and informative!
  11. I’m just starting to follow and learn more about international freestyle. Is there a good way to follow trials from other countries too? I’d like to learn more about the guys that are top competition for the US team at worlds, but have no idea where to look for that info or updates.
  12. We really need some help at 133 now.
  13. Anyone know why Charlie Millard took a MFF? Was looking forward to seeing him go with Lockett.
  14. I’m pretty sure he was at Owatonna.
  15. For any old school MMA fans, it looks like Travis Wiuff is wrestling in the C Division Heavyweight finals.
