hello and excuse me, I do not know Chris Coats personally or really much about him at all other than the info I found while I put up a freshman class preview yesterday. HEre: https://x.com/WrestlingSNL/status/1841600637643165717

I was referring to a gentleman named Chuck Coats who tweets a lot. I am not sure how much Chris tweets.

Chris appears to be slated at 141, which is not good for his odds of starting. 149 would be his best chance to avoid Greyson Clark (141) and Joey Blaze (157) in the lineup.

He was tough in highschool, coached him on some dual teams. His mom works for the school, that helped a hard lean for him. Does he end up starting this year IYO?

  3. I also make highlight videos, I guess. Ignore the music, note that this doesn’t include the Spencer Lee pinZ Matt Ramos is actually quite good outside of just that highlight despite what Purdues social media would have you think.

  5. Her on the right program could transcend wrestling and grow her image and future earnings much more than “just” 3 world titles and an Olympic title in that same time. She could also do college and international.

Iowa women’s wrestling with Amit would be a crazy draw.

Barraclough is clearly the biggest addition to the Utah Valley team but unless I'm mistaken he has only one year of eligibility remaining, i.e., the 2025 season.   By my count the upcoming season will be his 6th year of NCAA wrestling.

I believe so, what are expectations for him this coming year?

seems Utah Valley is making a statement this off-season though!

Yeah and the Program is a mess??

Rutgers returns 5 guys that have already been  All-Americans and the rest of the line up has NCAA Tournament Qualifiers at every weight..Might see a frosh break line up at 1 weight

Again one of the Best atmospheres and highest attended ( top 4) paid venues in NCAA Wrestling @Jersey Mikes Arena on Rutgers Campus

This years Recruiting class was ranked #4

    4. Rutgers
    Recruits:
#26 Conner Harer: Montgomery, PA (165), #32 Nate Blanchette: Central Catholic, MA (184), #34 Ayden Smith: Notre Dame-Green Pond, PA (125), #40 Andrew Barbosa: Palm Desert, CA (157), #53 Mason Gibson: Bishop McCort, PA (125/133), #117 Alex Nini: Christian Brothers, NJ (141), #183 Ryan Ford: Bergen Catholic, NJ (157), #206 Kurt Wehner: Donovan Catholic, NJ (125), NR Donovan DiStefano: Wall Township, NJ (149), NR Brandon Toranzo: Nutley, NJ (285), NR Nick Villani: Bernards, NJ (141/149)

I would think most NCAA D1 Coaches pray they can get " IN THE WAY" as much as Goodale!

I too am shook by the Goodale hate here. They have fans, results, and recruits.

unless they’re looking to catch Penn State immediately (I.e. pour millions into big name coaching and NIL), I’d say they’re looking great.

They all seem excited while attending an event. Unfortunately that excitement starts to wane once they get back to their office and we start peppering them to get started on the new program.

With the lawsuit against the NCAA about NIL money, will we even see new programs added?

We will see no NCAA sooner than a league influx of programs.

burn it down, separate by amateur (non-revenue) and professional (revenue with revenue sharing), and get back to it.

  9. From this article,  university of New Orleans by 2028: https://t.co/vOSoddHKwa

“Continuing on his process, Grant Leeth mentions that a program close to home, the University of New Orleans, has reached out and adopted this same approach. UNO started their wrestling club and is aiming to have a D1 program in the 2028-2029 season.

“That’s kind of the structure or blueprint of what we’re doing, and you said you’re in Louisiana. The University of New Orleans saw what we were doing. They reached out to our foundation president, and now they’re planning on adding a Division I team in 2028.”

Rutgers is definitely fully funded with the maximum 9.9...When Goodale took over the Program they were at 3 Scholarships

How long has Goodall been at the helm? I was just tweeting about how they’re taking off and getting excellent wrestlers, attendance, and good press.

    Purdue, please follow suit.

Did Hall get a degree at Penn?

I can’t imagine he did, he was an RTC athlete and coach, not a student as far as I know.

If he did, good for him, penn is legit.

Why would a Texas school have immediate success?  There is very little D1 talent in the state, and very little D1 talent in the surrounding states.  The travel budget would be large and only a few schools in the state play in a conference with wrestling.  There is also very little wrestling history in the state.  It's hard to overstate how few older people there wrestled.  There are near zero boosters at those schools who have a history with the sport.  Most of the coaches in the state come from out of state and a good chunk of the refs never wrestled.  It is just a very young sport there without much history.  I think a big school would probably be terrible if they started wrestling (which is not going to happen).

If Little Rock can have immediate success Texas A&M, UTexas, and University of Houston can as well. Texas wrestling is solid and make recognition alone would drive recruits there from anywhere.
