September 11 really sucks

24 years ago we experienced one of, if not the, darkest and most tragic days in the history of our nation. 
 

8 years ago my community woke up in the morning and began picking up the pieces of the destruction left behind from Hurricane Irma

3 years ago my wife went under the first of many surgeries and treatments for a very rare form of cancer, that would take her life just 17 months later

2 years ago we finished the last room of the almost total rebuild of our home from the destruction of Hurricane Ian

This morning I woke up hoping to see people realizing the hatred and division is going to bring us down and start a different path, only to see it amplified all over the place. 
 

I think beginning in 2026, September 11 is going to be spent way out in the ocean, or up deep in the mountains…totally off the grid.

It's incidentally my cousin's birthday today. At least I'll never forget.
