I guess you could say they were ahead of the curve.  Every major college football program in the country would be doing backflips if they could get the #1 recruit in the country on campus for just $1mm.  

There's nothing stopping these guys from transferring.  We haven't seen that extreme of an example yet in wrestling.  But sure enough, if things continue the way they are now, sometime in the next few years we will see a top recruit go to a program, get paid half a million or more to redshirt, and then transfer a year later if they don't fit the lineup.
