Yeah... I'm not seeing it, and I doubt you are either.  I see a lot of people whining about PSU fans not wanting to go, but I don't see any actual PSU fan saying "we shouldn't go."  I'm sure there's a couple if you hunt around long enough, but the "Locked On" people want them to go, Byers wants them to go (see video here (here), every PSU fan I know wants them to go. I don't even see any PSU wrestlers saying they don't want to go. But it's Cael's call, and dissent aside, no one's gonna stage a coup over this.

There's always a few saying "it's not a real national dual championship if PSU isn't there," but that's also what the fans of pretty much every other school are saying too, which is why everyone wants PSU to go. I guess it sounds self-important when PSU people say it, but they aren't wrong.

It's amazing how jealousy has turned so many non-PSU fans into such whiny little b*tches.

To be fair I'd emphasize that there are only a few (not so many) non-PSU fans of THIS forum that can be routinely counted on to make over-the-top whiny jealous little bitch anti-PSU posts in this thread and others.

As a Penn State fan and alumni, I really don't understand the hatred towards this event.  I get why Cael will say no, the timing of it doesn't really make any sense, but the current wrestling season calendar doesn't either.  If you have a team full of kids attempting to make world teams throughout the fall, they likely aren't "optimized" to compete in early November.  This being said, as a wrestling fan, why would you not want to see at least most of the nations top teams compete.  Particularly in a dual meet setting.

Do you believe that most PSU fans hate the event?  I've never had anyone express any hatred to me.

This could actually be a huge moment for Taylor and co. If Ryder goes to Oklahoma State and knocks off Welsh it would be an epic redemption story the likes of we haven’t seen since Bubba J knocked off Taylor himself.

Even if Ryder loses to Rocco the matchup has already launched a fantasy coaching career the likes we have never seen in sport.

  4. I'm conditionally dropping my resistance to a dual championship.  The conditions for my support:

    • Athlete eligibility be limited to the 30 man folkstyle rosters at the start of the season
    • Occur after the NCAA championship
    • Be freestyle
    • Qualifying events held at RTC locations
    • If a box is available I get it and catered food of my choice free of charge.

I'm pretty sure I can get Cael to agree to my terms, but only if Ryder rejoins the team.  It's all on Ryder now.

  5. Per Newsweek there is a lot going on in Congress as regards sanctions, secondary sanctions etc.

     https://www.newsweek.com/white-house-explains-why-russia-not-included-trumps-new-tariffs-2054548

    Full list in this article

    https://www.newsweek.com/trump-reciprocal-tariff-chart-2054514

South Africa is on the list.  Some heavily sanctioned countries are excluded (Cuba, North Korea, Russia).  Iran is included.

It will be interesting how this list shakes out over time.  I try to avoid the non wrestling forum category but tariff reciprocity has pros and cons, upsides and downsides, economic and political ramifications of interest.

  6. One great things about attending NCAa championship in Philadelphia this year is the interaction I had with fans from other schools who were not internet jerks.

As regards internet hate for PSU - Substitute PSU for Millwall.

And substitute PSU for Millwall. Pound sand haters.

I'm not sold on it either for the same reason. I just can't figure out what the next step is.

Gable should run for governor.  Minnesota has elected a wrestler before.

The will be performing a full transplant Monday At State College Medical Center - apparently several Intermat Forum posters have volunteered as leg donors - Coach Casey said he'd be ready for NCAA's. no worries, JC.

A donor leg has been obtained and it is downstairs drilling now.

Little is known about the mystery donor except that this leg can dead lift 337 1/2 lbs.  Donor had no need of leg because he only moves in a tripod stance and didn't need it.

Yea there was, at least after the first period.  Regardless, IMO in general it is the lack of action that is stalling, not the fact of being on a knee

    Time reference?

Only effective shots I see are from standing.  The SV TD was Plott taking ground (bad strategy) while AF retreats and waits for Plott to walk into him.  AF stands for the shot though.

The TD in OT maybe but the TD in the second period was in part created because he dropped to a knee.  Should we make wrist controls stalling in neutral since I am using them to limit your offense?

The second period TD was NOT initiated from 3PS (three point stalling) position. The critical error (Plott standing too high and leaning too much after he accepted the tie up and AF pushed Plotts left shoulder) was in the standing position and could have been avoided in the standing position.   Are they standing when the error is made (picture below) or not?  Your wrist control statement is silly and does not warrant a response.   Screenshot2025-02-244_44_04PM.png.6762d2651277d16a0372940292589439.png

If Plott is not capable of maintaining sound balance and a good stance after accepting a tie up from AF's 3PS position, he'd be better off not accepting a tie up at all.  Just dance around and push AF's head.  Or break the tie up as soon as they stand.  Win with mat wrestling.  Boring but good strategy.  Would another be moving to a russian tie on AF's left arm as soon as they stand?  maybe.  AF has a wicked low single and Plott needs to find a way to anticipate and hinder it.
