  • ExBSUfan changed the title to Standout: The Ben Kjar Story
Posted (edited)

I remember Ben Kjar - how could you not?  As one part of the story relates his mom saying:

"Ben, you’re born different to make a difference,’” he recalled. “‘You’re going to get attention in life whether you like it or not. When that attention comes, don’t fit in. Don’t shy away. You’re born to stand out.’”

People who idiotically belittle others because of something they  were born with (that makes them different) are the absolute lowest of the low.  One can only hope that if reincarnation is real that they get the same sort of fate in their next life.

Kjar was also an above average High School and NCAA wrestler.  He was a 2011 NCAA All-American (4th place) - a season in which he went 30-8 overall.  In the process of becoming an NCAA All-American he was also the first NCAA All-American for Utah Valley University.

He was also a 3 time Utah H.S. State champion with an overall H.S. record of 125-6.  And he was also a 5 time USA H.S. national champion
