American U20 World Medalists Since 2005

The 2024 U20 World Championships are in the books! The American contingent posted an excellent performance across all three styles. Each style had at least three medalists, a total that hasn’t been touched in the past 20 years. Altogether, the Americans earned 16 of a possible 30 medals with nine in men’s freestyle, four in women’s freestyle, and three in Greco-Roman. Three of them were gold medals. There’s already some discussion about whether this was our best U20 men’s freestyle team ever. They took home the championship while the women’s team finished fifth and the Greco squad was seventh.

We’ll try to look the 2024 U20 men’s freestyle team through a historical lens soon, but for now, look at the U20 (Junior) world medalists for the USA since 2005.
