2025 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament Qualifier List

With the completion of the U.S. Senior Open in Las Vegas on April 27, USA Wrestling has updated the list of athletes who have qualified for the 2025 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, which will be held at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Ky., May 16-17.

The list includes the qualifiers at the 16 weight classes for the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament. This includes eight women’s freestyle weight classes and eight men’s freestyle weight classes.

The winners of this tournament in each weight class qualify for Final X in Newark, N.J., June 14, where they face the 2025 U.S. Open champion in a best-of-three series to determine the Senior World Team member.

There are four weight classes in which the two Final X participants have already been determined. In men’s freestyle, the 57 kg and the 61 kg Final X pairings are already set. In women’s freestyle, the 57 kg and the 65 kg Final X pairings are already set. These weight classes will not be contested in Louisville.

Currently, there are 195 athletes who have qualified to compete at the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament. This includes 109 in men’s freestyle and 86 in women’s freestyle.

There will be no Greco-Roman competition at the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, as the 2025 U.S. Senior World Greco-Roman team was determined at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas.
