Utah Valley State to battle Dakotas

    What's on Tap ...

The Wolverines begin a stretch of three home duals in the next week when they host South Dakota State Saturday in the Activity Center at 7:00pm. Then on Tuesday, February 7th, North Dakota State comes to town before Portland State ends the week on Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm.

"Both of these teams will provide us with a tremendous challenge," said Utah Valley head coach Cody Sanderson. "They are both matches that could likely come down to bonus points."

Utah Valley has won its last three duals, including a 24-15 win last week at Adams State.

Junior 125-pounder Talon Vickers has an eight match winning streak for the Wolverines. He topped #7 (D-II) Rob McCabe last week 8-6 to continue that streak.

    About the Opposition ...
South Dakota State is 6-8 after Thursday's loss at Northern Colorado. Heavyweight Jason Stripling leads the team with 24 wins.

The Jackrabbits are coached by Jason Liles, who is in his 13th season at SDSU.

The North Dakota State Bison are 4-3 pending Monday's match up with Northern Colorado. They are led in wins by 184 pounder Matt Wetterling, who has a 21-6 record on the season.

NDSU is coached by Hall of Fame coach Bucky Maughan, who is in his 42nd season at the helm in Fargo. He has led the Bison to four NCAA D-II National Championships.

    Up Next ...

The Wolverines will wrap up their home schedule Saturday afternoon against Portland State at 2:00pm in the Activity Center.
