2024 Fargo Preview for Pac-12 Recruits

Fargo aka 16U and Junior Nationals is upon us. The largest wrestling tournament in the world is set to kick off on Saturday with the women’s freestyle portion of the tournament. Last year’s version of Fargo included over 7,000 participants! 

To get ready for Fargo, we’re looking at the tournament from a collegiate perspective. A recruiting perspective. Over the next few days, we’ll go conference-by-conference to look at recruits from each school who have signed up for the tournament. 

Next up is the Pac-12. It’s a conference that has undergone a severe facelift during the offseason. Arizona State has left for the Big 12. Stanford is in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The future of the conference itself is in question (outside of wrestling) as most of its members have moved on to other conferences. For the time being, we do have four of the six teams from the 2024 Pac-12 Championships that have a waiver to compete under the Pac-12 name. 

None of the four Pac-12 teams made InterMat’s recruiting rankings in 2024; however, three of the four were mentioned in 2022. While CSU Bakersfield has had its struggles, the other three teams have either been consistent on the recruiting trail or have been a part of a recent uptick in their recruiting output. 

So, here are the future Pac-12 wrestlers to keep an eye out for in Fargo. 

Recruits have been grouped by team. They are listed alphabetically alongside the weight listed in USA Wrestling’s registration, the state they represent, and their graduating class. The # next to a wrestler’s name denotes their MatScout Big Board ranking in their respective class. 

We’ve sorted through six or seven thousand entries to bring you these previews, so there could be a recruit or two that slipped through the cracks. If that’s the case, please let me know. Earl@matscouts.com
