    Oklahoma set to battle Hofstra

    NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 11/11 Oklahoma Sooners (9-5-1, 1-3) coming off an upset of the No. 3/3 Nebraska Cornhuskers, 19-16, Friday night look to continue their winning ways when they battle the No. 20 Hofstra Pride (9-6-1) Sunday afternoon at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City as part of the ESPNU Double Dual Invitational.

    "We are very excited to be taking part in the ESPNU Double Dual Invitational," said head coach Jack Spates. "Hofstra is an excellent opponent and we have our work cut out for us."

    The Sooners are 4-0 all-time vs the Pride. The last time the two programs met was in 2004 at the NWCA National Duals when the Sooners notched a 28-15 victroy.

    Sam Hazewinkel defeated No. 9 Paul Donahoe of Nebraska, 3-0, Friday night collecting his 99th collegiate victory. Hazewinkel, No. 2 in the 125 pound weight class, will be gunning for his 100th victory of his career against Dave Tomasette Sunday.

    With the win Friday night against the Cornhuskers the Sooners posted their first Big 12 win of the season which tops last season win total when the Sooners went 0-5 in league competition.

    Next up for the Sooners is part two of the annual Bedlam Series presented by the Bank of Oklahoma and Your Oklahoma Ford Dealer's, when the No. 2 Cowboys visit Howard McCasland Field House on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m.
