NCAA DI Rankings Updated (2/25/2025)

We’ve made it to the end of the 2024-25 regular season! The dual meet portion of the schedule closed emphatically with Iowa’s win over Oklahoma State. For the second straight season, the Hawkeyes are responsible for Oklahoma State’s only dual loss of the year. That gives Iowa the #2 spot in our final set of dual rankings for the year. Oklahoma State takes the number three slot. 

The only other significant change in the team's dual rankings was related to Virginia Tech’s win over NC State. NC State drops behind Virginia Tech and one-loss Cornell. Minnesota and Ohio State move up as well. 

Even with big duals like Iowa/Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech/NC State, there wasn’t a whole lot of movement at the top of the individual rankings. A slight upset from the Hokies 125 lber Eddie Ventresca gave Vince Robinson his first actual loss of the year and led to a bit of shuffling. Troy Spratley moves back up to #3, Ventresca is #4, and Robinson is #5. All three have exchanged wins over each other, so you could order this a couple of different ways. We’re taking the most recent result and working from there. 

Another top-five loss came at 149 lbs where #8 Ethan Stiles downed #5 Lachlan McNeil. Stiles has been remarkable since moving down from 157. In the last month, he has beaten #5 McNeil, #9 Lamer, #11 Williams, and #15 Abas. I’m not sure I remember a wrestler dropping down midseason and turning in results like this.

Also, at 174 lbs, Lorenzo Norman lost to Josh Ogunsanya. It is only the second loss of the year for Norman, so he doesn’t get penalized too much. It also doesn’t make sense based on the rest of the weight class to drop him any lower than fifth, right now.
