Nadolsky, Shaw named to All-ACC Academic Wrestling Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. –- North Carolina juniors Spencer Nadolsky and Bobby Shaw were each named to the inaugural All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Wrestling Team, the league office announced Thursday. Nadolsky and Shaw were two of only three All-ACC grapplers to also earn a spot on the academic squad.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Nadolsky (HWT) and Shaw (125) each finished as the conference runner-up in their respective weight classes, but played a crucial role in North Carolina winning its 17th ACC Championship, second in a row and third league title in the last four years. Nadolsky, ranked as high as No. 12 by the NWCA and InterMat, received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship and finished with a 3-2 mark at nationals. The junior heavyweight finished the season with a record of 42-7 and a team-high 11 pins.

Shaw posted a 21-17 overall record at 125.
