    JJ Classic Format

  • High school event (one division) open to wrestlers in grades 7-12

  • Scholastic style (folkstyle) rules

  • Registration rate: $35 if registered on or before September 20. $45 after September 20.

  • The high school weight classes approved by the National Federation of State High School Association's rules committee in 2011 will be used. Those weight classes are 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, and 285

  • No weight allowance

  • 2-2-2 periods for championship bracket matches, 2-1-1 periods for consolation bracket matches

  • Minimum rest time between matches is 15 minutes

  • Headgear is not required

  • Certified officials will be used

  • Each of the 28 finalists will receive custom, limited edition InterMat JJ Classic finalist fight shorts from Cradle Gear

  • Weight classes will be seeded by a committee and will be based on state, regional, and national accomplishments

  • USA Wrestling-sanctioned event. Wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling membership card. Not a USA Wrestling member? Purchase USA Wrestling membership card

  • The head official will conduct a skin check of all wrestlers prior to the start of the event. The official will make the decision whether or not a wrestler can compete. If a wrestler has a skin condition, the wrestler must have a current physician's statement at the skin check which clears him for competition. Officials may disqualify a wrestler if a skin condition appears active
