The Terriers took a 10- lead when Abbie Rush pinned Ryan Fitzgerald at 125 pounds and Joey Whitaker earned a major decision over Simon Orozco, 13-5, at 133 pounds. But the Crimson took control of the match winning the next seven bouts. No. 16 Max Meltzer started the Crimson off, with an 8-5 decision over Carlos Ferrandino at 141 pounds. Sixth-ranked J.P. O'Connor picked up his 25th win of the season at 149 with a 3-2 victory over Mike Roberts. Sophomore Andrew Flanagan, the ninth-ranked wrestler at 157 pounds, put up a 4-1 win over Mike Cubillos to pull the Crimson with in one, 10-9.
A 12-1 major decision by Bobby Latessa at 165 pounds gave the Crimson a lead it would not relinquish. Rookie Fred Rowsey added six point of his own with a fall over A.J. Detwiler in 4:06. No. 15 Louis Caputo added to the lead with a 16-0 technical fall over Eli Vidal at 184 pounds. Junior Jonathan Butler sealed the win with a 10-4 decision at 197 pounds. Orey Hall halted the Crimson streak taking the heavyweight match up 4-3 over Andrew Knapp.
Harvard hosts Brown and Franklin & Marshall Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Malkin Athletic Center. It will be the first of five straight home matches for the Crimson. The Crimson and Bears grapple at 1 p.m., and Harvard takes on the Diplomats at 4:30 p.m.
