Goff began his Viking career by being named to the 2005-06 Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Third Team. He has won at least 20 matches each season and has reached the NCAA tournament three consecutive seasons. This year Goff has placed at each tournament he has wrestled, including a first place finish at the Michigan State Open, two second place finishes at the Eastern Michigan Open and the Nittany Lion Open. Goff also finished sixth at the Midlands Invitational with a win over then fourth ranked Kyle Massey of Wisconsin.

Goff becomes the first Cleveland State wrestler to win the award since Ryan Hurley won the award in January of 2007.
