I never give people credit for being a troll. I never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity. If people want to act stupid I will gladly believe them.
Yet, you’re here contributing to another one of his threads??? Give it a rest already would ya.

Aside from your hate post, it’s a decent thread, so far. Jimmy makes the forum more interesting and entertaining.
He does and I support him, most of the time - but not always. I especially like how he quietly dismisses the jealous haters by not acknowledging them while continuing to post as he sees fit.

Obviously the wrestling season format with lots of dual meets makes little sense. Lots of time and effort and resources are spent on single matches, and starters often duck or are injured anyway. At a minimum super duals would be more efficient uses of time. But that’s not going to change so what’s left?
The all-star meet. I think there’s a lot of untapped potential there. It could be marketed as an MMA-style “card.” And instead of every weight class being represented, simply the most compelling matchups possible are put together. And since it’s an exhibition, you could even invite post-college competitors too.
The athletes could then hype the matches up and hopefully help themselves in the NIL department.
Whether you admit it or not, you’d enjoy another Downey-Starocci match. You 1000% know you would, and you’d follow the buildup even if you missed the match.
Good thread. At this point I’m open to anything to improve our back seat position to most other collegiate sports.

Anytime I listen to an interview with Tom I always walk away thinking to myself how fortunate his wrestlers are to have him as their leader. Thankfully it is not life threatening and that’s good news. It’s also nice to see all the words of support he’s getting from the wrestling community including in this forum. Get well soon Tom Ryan!

I think he would be nuts to pass up $400k to win another NCAA title.
Absolutely

Freestyle, more so than folkstyle, allows a wrestler to literally win without scoring an offensive point (passivity->shot clock-> points). I feel it often leads to results where a wrestler who arguably did less than his opponent can be declared the victor.
Also, matches are seldom loaded with pushout points which folkstyle haters claim will boost scoring and action.
So do we still want to abolish folkstyle and switch college to exclusively freestyle?
That will never happen but I’ll vote no anyway.

"Ambassador for the sport" is some chatgpt level, no-substance having, nonsense filler words that the old, fat, bald dorks who watch this sport say to sound like they have their finger on the pulse. Its like talking wrestling technique and saying to use your "hips" or "core" as much as possible.
Exactly

Bad look for JB there
Bad look my foot. He punched him in the back of the head. Out of the tournament with a 2 year ban in the sport. We’re not tolerating a blatant assault like that and on national TV.

My brother did not wrestle his sophomore year of high school because he was too small. He wrestled junior high in 9th grade at 70lbs. He went something like 24-0 and won his section. The next year as a sophomore he was too small to wrestle 103lbs. He literally could not gain enough weight to meet the minimum. And then his junior year he would have to drink tons of water in order to be able to get up to required lowest weight allowed to wrestle 103lbs. Even as a senior he did not have to cut weight to wrestle 103lbs. He is 44 years old and to this day is still 115lbs soaking wet at 5'6".
If my brother had the choice to repeat a year in order to get bigger so he could wrestle he would have laughed in the face of anyone who would suggest it. There was a zero percent chance he was going to leave his all of his friends in his grade behind to wrestle. Of course my brother was not a world class talent so maybe the would have changed things.
Somehow I missed this post earlier but better late than never to say thank you for sharing this. Anything from the heart like your message is well received I’m sure by multitudes of fans throughout the nation.

He's the one who shared it with Flo so get a grip my dude.
I'd honestly prefer these amazing wrestlers just wrestle the grade they were supposed to rather than doing illegal tricks to literally get your child an advantage over other children. The parents are prioritizing wrestling success over an education, social life, etc. But you'll always have shitty parents so doubtful that happens.
I’m sorry you just don’t see what’s wrong here “my dude “ Have a good afternoon.

that seems like criminal behavior on the parents though. To small for 106. Wow.
For the record I didn’t see the vid before posting the link. I thought it was click bait nonsense especially that very poorly written headline.
I’m assuming you’re a young dude so I’ll give you a pass for ignorance and not knowing better.
