  1. 1. John Smith 2x Olympic Champ, 4x World Champ. 181-10 wrestling record with a 95% win rate. He beat 45 World/Olympic medalists during his career and retired at 26. So he probably could've kept it rolling if he didn't start coaching. John Smith's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/john-smith/ 2. Jordan Burroughs 1x Olympic Champ, 6x World Champ, 3x World Bronze. 248-21 wrestling record with a 92% win rate. He's beaten 70 World/Olympic medalists in his career so far. JB is definitely the modern era GOAT, having to take out Kyle Dake and David Taylor multiple times to make the US team. JB's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/jordan-burroughs/ 3. Cael Sanderson 1x Olympic Champ, 1x World Silver. 105-19 wrestling record with an 85% win rate. He beat 19 World/Olympic medalists during his career. I might get some heat for putting Cael at #3, but he's my GOAT. He made the 2001 US World Team, but opted out because the NCAAs were the same weekend as Worlds. He made the 2002 US World Team, but the US didn't go due to security concerns. He retired after winning Olympic gold in 2004. Then came back 7 yrs later to take 5th in the world. If he never retired for a coaching job, he would have 20 World titles. Cael Sanderson's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/cael-sanderson/ 4. Kyle Snyder 1x Olympic Champ, 1x Olympic Silver, 3x World Champ, 2x World Silver, 2x World Bronze. 216-22 wrestling record with a 91% win rate. He's beaten 50 World/Olympic medalists so far during his career, and he's only 29. I gave Kyle Snyder the edge over Bruce Baumgartner, because I think the current era of wrestling is more competitive. Plus Kyle Snyder is still wrestling. Kyle Snyder's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/kyle-snyder/ 5. Dave Schultz 1x Olympic Champ, 1x World Champ, 3x World Silver, 2x World Bronze. 489-88-1 wrestling record with an 85% win rate. He beat 53 World/Olympic medalists during his career. He holds the US record for most senior level freestyle wins, and is the only American to win the Tbilisi tournament twice. Dave Schultz's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/dave-schultz/ Who do you have in your top 5? I've got Baumgartner, Gable, Kyle Dake, Lee Kemp, and David Taylor close, but I think they are right outside the top 5.
  2. The All Allah/Mohammed team would be insanely stacked. I think they probably dominate this hypothetical dual.
  3. Ok I didn't realize that. Then yea a lot of those guys are making this team.
  4. 1. Aaron Brooks With an under hook coming from the Holy Spirit, Brooks gets the #1 spot. His anti Yazdani Islam comments almost started a Holy War. 1x Olympic Bronze. 25-8 senior level wrestling record with a 76% win rate. Aaron Brooks' Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/aaron-brooks/ 2. Bo Bassett Credits Kyle Snyder with inviting him to his first bible study. U20 World Bronze. He's early in his senior level freestyle career, but already has a win over Anthony Ashnault at the 2024 Last Chance OTT. Bo Bassett's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/bo-bassett/ 3. David Carr Repped a '100% Jesus' headband on his way to 2 NCAA titles. Picking up steam on the senior circuit with wins over Alex Dieringer and Levi Haines to take 3rd at the 2024 World Team Trials. 31-12 senior level wrestling record with a 72% win rate. David Carr's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/david-carr/ 4. Kyle Snyder I can't think of any Christian with a more impressive resume. 1x Olympic Champ, 1x Olympic Silver, 3x World Champ, 2x World Silver, 2x World Bronze. He has 216 senior level wins, and has beaten 50 World/Olympic medalists in his career. Kyle Snyder's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/kyle-snyder/ 5. Greg Kerkvliet Probably the 2nd most outspoken guy on the Penn State team. He's also pretty early in his senior level career, but he has a 3rd place finish at senior nationals, and a 4th place finish at the Olympic Trials. 9-5 senior level wrestling record with a 64% win rate. Greg Kerkvliet's Record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/greg-kerkvliet/ Are these the top 5 Christians in US wrestling history?
  5. Very cool. Did you work with the Senegal national team? Or were you working the tournament?
  6. That's super cool. You should've shot a double on him. Might've surprised him.
  7. Haha I heard cheapie. Could've been chee-chee though
  8. 34-2 is insane. Makes sense Saitiev would have a match up there.
  9. Interesting. 34-6 is pretty steep. I didn't think of there being no mercy rule for high school. I'm sure there were some pretty crazy scores.
  10. They didn't have techs in the 70s, so there were some pretty lopsided wins. 3x world medalist Andre Metzger beat a guy 65-0. Dan Gable destroyed some people too. He beat Klaus Rost 20-0 in the '72 Olympics. He also beat Dave Muthler 25-0 in the '71 WTTs. Have there been any wins more dominant than 65-0? Andre Metzger's record: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/andre-metzger/
  11. Lol I'm seeing that now. First time posting/responding, so I'm blaming it on that.
  12. Thanks! I appreciate it. It took insanely long to make, so glad some people seem to like it.
  13. I met this guy who has spent the last 5 yrs compiling the records for every US world/olympic medalist from 1960-now. He said he has hundreds of librarians helping him go through old archives of newspaper clippings. Wrestling hall of fame and other places have boxes of old records. USA wrestling has lots of online records from 2000-now, but they aren't presented well, and they are sometimes inaccurate.
  14. No problem! It will stay updated. I'll keep adding people, and will keep everyone updated with future tournament records. John Smith was a stud. A lot of the older guys seem to have a crazy amount of matches for whatever reason. Bruce Baumgartner had 400.
  15. I thought it was weird I'd never seen John Smith's complete FS stats/match records. Same goes for the other US GOATs. Tom Brands, Dan Gable, Cael Sanderson, etc. Turns out they didn't exist. Until today. I created a database with stats/match records for all "pro" wrestlers. Idk if anyone cares, but I thought it was cool. You can check out John Smith's record here: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/john-smith/
