Brayton Lee to Bellarmine as an assistant coach
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMtcq90PXx8/
That makes two former IU wrestlers (sorta) on the Bellarmine coaching staffI believe i saw Lee was also participating in Poland event coming up.
I must have missed the other IU connection that joined the coaching staff. Who was it? But good move for them to help with Central Indiana recruiting.

If you only make it to Nolf’s first match and then decide to stop watching, you may want to continue on through Episode 7. Some paths aren’t always set in stone.

Nolf will have his first round match on tommorows (Fridays) episode. You can find it posted at noon on the UFC Youtube Channel.

Looking at the bracket if Nolf wins his opening bout he will have the #1 seed in the semi-finals.

UFC has launched a BJJ Reality show on Youtube to showcase their new BJJ league. I can’t tell for sure but it seems like they maybe pumping out 30min episodes daily for the next week and a half. Finalists of each weight class will be compete for the first championship. Jason got picked to be on Mike Musumeci team. Mike is considered by many the top no-gi BBJ guy in the world, so definitely can help Nolf out with his wrestling-hybrid BJJ strategy. While Nolf is considers a long shot to win the competition it will still be interesting to see how a world class wrestler can adapt to competing against some top BJJ guys.

3 Tiers this season
1- Penn State, Iowa
2- Ohio State, Michigan , Rutgers, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota
3- Purdue, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Maryland, Michigan State

Tier 1 - Penn State
Tier 2 - Empty
Nobody is sniffing Penn State. Ergo, there is no Tier 2.
Tier 3 - Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State
Tier 4 - Rutgers, Michigan
Tier 5 - Minnesota, Illinois
Tier 6 - EMPTY
Tier 7 - Maryland, Purdue
Tier 8 - Northwestern, Michigan State
Might need to move Tier 4 in to Tier 5 and leave Tier 3 on an island as well.
I see that Indiana is on a none existent Tier someplace.

My solution is to add foot sweeps and trips with no leg grabbing, while we are at it add arm bar submissions as well. We have seen for too many years how hard it is good score in Greco and the result has been a really terrible sport.
I agree “dirty Greco” (foot sweeps and trips) would be worth considering to create action, but the Olympic issue is that basically turned Greco into a Judo hybrid. And the IOC likes to have distinct differences between the combat sports. We don’t need a reason to dump one of those sports from the Olympic sports.

One difference is that in this case, the NIL sponsors said they wanted to reward Khan for his rizz and for "embodying the fun and enjoyment you have watching the tournament." We've got plenty of that.
Well they NIL’ed him because he was going to get TV exposure for a large demographic of men every time McNease was on. Plus, the social media clips that would come from it. Cheaper and more replayed than paying for a single TV ads during March Madness.

Jordan Williams! Two big ranked top ten wins over lamer and stiles. Taylor gave up on him way too early.
Something tells me if this ended up waking the kid up and he’s on a more consistent path then Taylor is fine with how the decision turned out. Hard lessons and fresh starts are sometimes necessary.

Doesn’t Virginia have like 6 classes? Obviously with that wide of a spread a lot of people are getting in.
-
Brownsburg in Indiana hair completely “Smashed” the single class state tournament with 7 state champions. In doing so their finals results basically would have won them a dual title championship vs the entire state too. Gotta give them some national credit.
-
Been thinking for awhile a higher value should be put on winning matches, especially against high quality opponents, during the last half of the season compared to the starting half. Doesn’t fix everything but seems like it could bring the rating of wrestlers down who are dodging competition later in the season.

Based on the current state of college sports he still have a few years to evaluate/reevaluate that.

I’m definitely no lawyer, but taking away scholarship money for talking to the media during competitions could lead to some lawsuits, and I’m guessing CSU would lose.
Yes but most college kids can’t afford to take that chance considering the court case will likely be tied up for a few years and they only have a limited amount of finances to graduate and move on with their lives.

What’s stopping them from doing the interviews? What are they gonna do, cut the program?
Most cut programs at least honor their scholarships through an athletes graduation. While CSU isn’t giving out 100% scholarships the % they do give likely means something to athletes that may not be sure of their athletics future.

Be interesting to see what % of the starting line up are portal transfers for the Top 20 teams. I’m not digging into that research/math but if you want to be my guest.
-
I also think the real sweat spot of taking advantage of the new portal system is a teams ability to get Sophomores-Seniors. As I mention before Grad transfers have been a thing forever so I call that statistic a wash. And there’s a pretty standard history of Redshirt Freshman or even regular Freshman requests on a transfer due to not liking the program after reaching campus or not feeling they will get into the lineup quick enough due to tough upperclass competition. Get those Sophomores-Seniors that could have remained at their current school seems to be the portals sweet spot for changing a teams dynamic.

I still am one that looks at transfers in two different lights. Teams gaining Grad transfers vs. teams getting portal under-grad transfers. Since Grad-transfers have been around for ages, I don’t look at that as a change that would be any different than usual. As opposed to under-grad portal transfers that are now having a new impact on some programs quick moving up or down as a dual team or in NCAA AAs. So to throw a side bar into your original question I’d say what teams are being effected most from those under-grad portal transfer.

Movie also made McD and Brands look like John Lawrence and the Cobra Kai sensei.
But I was told Johnny was the hero of that story. That punk Jersey kid Daniel tried to steal his girl and should have been called for an illegally kick to the face during the All-Valley finals. Barney Stinson gets it.
