    Graduate Assistant – Wrestling Program
    Location: Carl Albert State College, Poteau, OK/Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK
    Position Type: 2-Year Graduate Assistantship
    Start Date: August 2025

    Carl Albert State college in collaboration with Northeastern State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Graduate Assistant position within the Wrestling Program. This is a two-year appointment designed for individuals pursuing graduate studies at NSU while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of a collegiate athletic program at Carl Albert State College.

    Responsibilities:

    The Graduate Assistant will support the Head Coach and athletic department staff in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:

    • Assisting with daily operations of the wrestling program
    • Organizing and conducting team and individual practices
    • Participating in recruiting efforts, including evaluation and communication with prospective student-athletes
    • Supporting marketing and social media initiatives
    • Assisting with the planning and execution of summer wrestling camps and clinics
    • Monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
    • Game day preparation and management
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics
    • Maintaining compliance with NJCAA and institutional policies and procedures

    Compensation:

    • Full tuition waiver for graduate studies at Northeastern State University
    • Semester stipend ($3,000.00 per semester)
    • On-campus room and board at Carl Albert State College (Housing availability is limited; family and married housing is not available. Couples accepted into the GA program may share accommodations.)

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
    • Admission into a graduate program at Northeastern State University by August 2025
    • Collegiate wrestling experience required
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
    • Passion for coaching, mentoring student-athletes, and contributing to the growth of the program
