National Signing Day was last week and in its wake were a handful of top Juniors who followed up with verbal commitments over the past couple of days. In one instance, it was a prominent recruit who went to an already-solid Class of 2026, while the others became the first juniors to commit to their respective institutions.
Here’s more about the three top-50 recruits who made their college commitments known over the weekend:
#13 Antonio Mills (Mill Creek, GA) to NC State
NC State is already off to a fast start with Class of 2026 recruiting. That class continued to improve with a commitment on Friday from the #13 overall junior, Antonio Mills. Mills is a two-time Georgia state champion with his most recent title coming at 120 lbs.
He recently made the finals of the Super 32 at that same weight. It was his third time placing at that prestigious event - the first time was an eighth-place finish in 2022 as an eighth grader. That performance led to a #2 national ranking at 120 lbs per MatScouts.
Mills has also won the NHSCA grade-level championships in each of his first two years of high school. Last summer, he finished eighth at Junior Nationals in freestyle in Fargo.
Before committing to NC State, Mills took visits to rival Virginia Tech, along with Little Rock, and Nebraska.
At the next level, Mills likely projects at the 133 lb weight class; though he could even grow into 141 lbs. By the time Mills is in Raleigh, 141 could be open. True freshman Draegen Orine has been impressive thus far at 133 lbs.
NC State has had good success with recruits from Georgia. Their current starter at 174 lbs is from Georgia, as were their long-time starters - the Bullard twins (Daniel and Thomas).

#20 Sam Herring (Bishop McCort, PA) to Penn State
On Sunday morning, Penn State received their first commitment from the Class of 2026 as U17 Greco-Roman world team member, Sam Herring, gave Cael Sanderson’s team a verbal. Because Bishop McCort has such a stacked lineup, Herring wasn’t able to compete in the 2024 high school postseason; however, he does carry plenty of national-level accolades.
Herring has also placed a the Super 32 on three occasions, the most recent being a fourth-place finish at 138 lbs. He has four Fargo All-American honors. He was a 16U freestyle finalist in 2021 and was fifth in Junior freestyle this summer. In 2023, Herring was the American representative at the U17 Greco-Roman World Championships. In addition to winning the Greco trials, Herring was also fourth in freestyle.
These placements have helped Herring receive a #7 ranking at 138 lbs and he’s currently #20 overall in the Class of 2026.
Before committing to Penn State, Herring also visited Cornell, Lehigh, and NC State.
Penn State already has a star-studded Class of 2025 committed but did not have any commitments from the Class of 2026 before Herring’s. At this point, there isn’t a clear-cut, long-term starter for Penn State in place at 149 lbs.
An elephant in the room for whenever a wrestler from Bishop McCort commits is the potential impact it has on the recruitment of #1 Bo Bassett and #2 Jax Forrest. Both have Penn State on the current recruiting list. Earlier this fall, teammate #160 Owen McMullen committed to Iowa.

#47 Reagan Milheim (Warrior Run, PA) to American
Right as American added a second Milheim brother on National Signing Day, a third committed to the Eagles as #47 Reagan Milheim gave American a verbal commitment.
The brother that started it all with American, Kaden, is a redshirt freshman and the starter at 165 lbs for American. Cameron is a high school senior, ranked #235 overall, who made it official last week.
Reagan is a two-time Pennsylvania AA state finalist. He was a runner-up as a freshman at 139 lbs and a state champion last season at 145 lbs. On a national stage, Reagan’s best credential is a seventh-place finish at the UWW U17 Trials in freestyle last spring.
For now, it appears like Reagan could follow suit and wrestle 165 lbs for the Eagles. His older brothers could provide some of his primary competition, so they will sort it out. I’m sure they’ve been battling each other for a long time.
Despite the family link to American, Reagan did take visits to Indiana and Oklahoma State before committing to Jason Borrelli’s team.
American just wrapped up signing a Class of 2025 that includes four Big Boarder’s. Reagan is the first commit from the Class of 2026.
