#19 Overall Junior Logan Commits to Michigan

Recruiting in the Class of 2027 continues to heat up, with marquee prospects committing on an almost daily basis. The latest to make his collegiate intentions known is Gabe Logan (Delbarton, NJ), the #19 overall recruit in the junior class.

At this time last year, as a sophomore, Logan was ranked 20th in the nation at 157 lbs. Logan has been away from the mat for an extended period of time because of injuries, so he was dropped from the national rankings.

As a freshman, Logan was fourth at the New Jersey state tournament while competing at 150 lbs. Before his freshman year of high school, Logan won a 16U Greco-Roman national title in Fargo and was third in freestyle. Last summer, Logan was a 16U finalist in freestyle.

Logan chose the Wolverines after taking visits to Arizona State, Penn, and Virginia Tech.

The last name might be familiar to longtime Michigan fans, as his father, Damion, was a two-time All-American for the Wolverines at 141 lbs in 1999 and 2000.

Because Logan has been away from the mat for so long, it’s difficult to get a projected weight for him. That being said, I’d expect him to be at 165 or 174 lbs in the future. Michigan has an immediate need at 165 lbs and could have one at 174 lbs by the time Logan reaches Ann Arbor and redshirts.

While a #19 ranking is impressive, once Logan returns to regular competition, it could actually increase from there.
