CLAW: Night One Draft Results

Monday night marked a huge night for the Champions League of American Wrestling (CLAW). The six-team league held their first-ever draft and wrestlers were selected to their new teams. Unlike other leagues, CLAW’s format will be heavily skewed towards duals (with tournaments involved too) so once the draft concludes, fans might have a new team to follow based on where their favorite wrestlers end up. 

As expected, the most decorated wrestler in the league, two-time Senior world medalist and 2023 world champion Zain Retherford was taken with the first overall pick in the draft by the Cradle City Cicadas. Joining him on the Cicadas will be Tristan Moran (2nd round), Demetrius Thomas (3rd round), and CJ Brucki (4th round). 

General Managers for each team were given a pool of committed wrestlers to select at seven weight classes and told to fill out their rosters as they see fit.
