Week 3 concludes with many wrestlers jumping and dropping in the standings.
For these standings, we will be using the Basic Fantasy Scoring through @WrestleStat (Win by Dec +3, Loss by Dec -3, Win by Pin +6, Loss by Pin -6, etc). Only results against D1 competition (starters, backups, and redshirts) will count towards Fantasy Points. Standings are first ordered based on total Fpts, then if tied by Points Per Match (PPM).
Week 3 Notes:
Of the Top-10 for Week 3, only four are starters. Some got the luck of the draw being at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial for D1 competition while others took advantage of Round Robin play at the Daktronics Open.
Landon Sommer took advantage of his three matches, securing three pins for 18 Fpts. In second of the Week 3 standings, Rutgers’ Kurt Wehner technically wrestled six matches, but only three were countable for 16 Fpts.
Three starters tied for 5th in Zach Glazier, Issac Trumble, and Vincent Robinson, but all arrived by different results. Glazier had three techs, Trumble had two pins and a decision, and Robinson had one tech, one major, and one win by injury default. But at the end of the day, the scoreboard reads 15 Fpts and 5 PPM for all.
Speaking of Vincent Robinson, he continues his terrific start of the season. Before the injury win against Dean Peterson (RUT), he looked to be well on his way for at least a win by major. But with the two extra points from the win by injury, Robinson holds a five point lead over Jim Mullen, and seven point lead over the rest of the Top-5.
