    Wisconsin-Parkside downs Wisconsin-Stevens Point

    SOMERS, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling squad ushered in its home slate on Wednesday night, defeating in-state nemesis University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 26-18 inside DeSimone Gymnasium.

    The Rangers (1-1) stormed out of the gates winning the first two weight classes. Ronzel Darling earned a 17-2 tech fall victory over the Pointers' (2-1) Kris Adams at 125-pounds while Joseph Her pinned Lance Fabry in the 133-pound bout. UWSP claimed the 141 weight class before the Rangers' Brandt Welcher won 10-3 at 149 pounds.

    Nick Fishback secured a 16-4 major decision victory at 165-pounds over Ben Thome while Montrail Johnson rolled Dylan Diebitz 19-8 at the 174-pound weight class. Blaine Conner secured the Rangers final win of the night, downing Kane Seubert 18-6 for the major decision.

    Davien Willis suffered his first loss of the season at 197-pounds, putting together a gritty performance after sustaining a lower body injury early in the third period. Willis battled into multiple overtimes before eventually falling 2-1.

    UW-Parkside returns to the mat on Saturday, heading to Mequon, Wis. for the Concordia Open.
