
In the first bout of the match between the two rivals, Shaw pinned NC State's Jeremy Hartrum in 6:25. The Newark, Del., native's victory gave the Tar Heels a 6-0 lead, one they would not relinquish. Shaw is now 19-15 on the season and tied for second on the team with seven pins.
Carolina has now had four wrestler of the week honorees this season. Shaw joins Spencer Nadolsky and Vincent Ramirez, who is a two-time winner, as award winners.
The Tar Heels close out the regular season at home against Old Dominion Sunday at 1 p.m.
