With the win, the 20th-ranked Jackrabbits improved to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in Big 12 duals. SDSU has won seven duals in a row since a loss to third-ranked Iowa on Dec. 2. Air Force dropped to 4-3 overall, 0-2 against league foes.
Backup 157-pounder Logan Peterson returned to the win column for SDSU with a 7-6 decision over Dane Robbins to open the match. Luke Zilverberg followed with a 5-2 victory over Alex Lopouchanski at 165 pounds and David Kocer recorded a 6-0 shutout of Michael Billingsley in the 174-pound matchup.
The Jackrabbit streak reached five as Martin Mueller scored a 7-4 decision over Zen Ikehara at 184 pounds and eighth-ranked 197-pounder Nate Rotert downed Parker Hines by a 10-3 count.
Air Force's two victories on the afternoon came in successive matches, starting with Kerry Powers' 3-0 decision over Alex Macki in the heavyweight division. The Falcons' Drew Romero followed with a 12-6 decision over Ben Gillette at 125 pounds.
SDSU finished the dual strong with three decisive victories. Sixth-ranked Seth Gross posted his fourth consecutive pin in dual competition, putting Dylan Hyder's shoulders to the mat in 3 minutes and 45 seconds in their 133-pound bout. Gross improved to 18-1 on the season, including 8-0 in duals.
Isaac Andrade followed with an 11-4 decision over John Twomey and 141 pounds and Alex Kocer closed the match with an 11-2 major decision over Jerry McGinty. Alex Kocer upped his season record to 17-4 and a 9-1 mark in duals with his victory.
The Jackrabbits are scheduled to square off against top-ranked Oklahoma State on Jan. 22. Action is slated for a 2 p.m. start at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
