    #1 Zavur Uguev won the Olympics by over #2 (INT) Ravi Kumar (IND). Uguev's title run also included wins over #3 (INT) Thomas Gilman (USA), #5 (INT) Gulomyon Abdullaev (UZB), and #4 (INT) Reza Atri (IRI). Ramazan Bagavudinov won the Junior World Championships in a crazy 11-11 comeback win against Muhammet Karavuz (TUR). Amir Chamzyn won the Ion Cornianu Memorial tournament over 2017 U-23 world runner-up Mikyay Salim Naim (BUL). #9 Muslim Sadulaev finished runner-up to three-time Russian Nationals bronze medalist #15 (INT) Aryan Tyutrin (BLR) in The Medved finals.

    In the wrestle-offs for the Non-Olympic world championships, Russian Nationals bronze medalist #6 Abubakar Mutaliev was able to come away with two huge wins over 2020 Russian Nationals runner-up #3 Azamat Tuskaev and 2019 Russian Nationals champion #5 Ramiz Gamzatov to earn the world team spot. Mutaliev moves up four spots in the rankings to #2 while Gamzatov moves up two places to #3 for his 17-6 tech fall win over 2021 Russian Nationals runner-up #2 Nachyn Mongush and Uyguulan Ivanov.

    Russian Nationals 5th place finisher #4 Nodar Arabidze took bronze at the Medved after a semifinal loss to #10 (INT) Andrey Bekrenev (BLR). Arabidze had a strong win in the qualifying round against U-23 European champion #12 (INT) Taimuraz Vanishvili (GEO). #5 Fedor Baltuev took bronze at the Junior World Championships after a semifinal loss to eventual champion #8 (INT) Rahman Amouzadkhalili (IRI). Two-time Russian Nationals champion #1 Abasgadzhi Magomedov will be Russia's world championships representative at 61 KG.




    65 KG

    2019 world champion #1 Gadzhimurad Rashidov finished with a bronze medal at the Olympics after a 3-2 semifinal loss to eventual champion #1 (INT) Takuto Otoguro (JPN). Rashidov notched wins over elite competition the likes of #6 (INT) Vazgen Tevanyan (ARM), #11 (INT) Ismail Musukaev (HUN) and #6 (70) (INT) Magomedmurad Gadzhiev (POL) while in Tokyo.

    Shamil Mamedov won the Junior World Championships over Ziraddin Bayramov (AZE). #9 Ramazan Ferzaliev took gold at The Medved with an 8-8 win over Pejman Nemati.

    Russian Nationals runner-up #2 Zagir Shakhiev locked up the world team spot with dominant wins over #3 Abdulmazhid Kudiev and #5 Akhmed Chakaev. Two-time world bronze medalist Chakaev moves up two spots to #3 in the rankings for tech falling 2021 Russian Nationals bronze Kudiev in the world team trials wrestle-offs.

    2021 Russian Nationals runner-up #2 Evgheni Zherbaev walked away with a pair of huge wins over 2021 Russian Nationals champion #1 Israil Kasumov and 2019 world champion #4 David Baev to secure the world team spot. Zherbaev takes the #1 spot while Kasumov falls to #2. 2019 Russian Nationals champion Baev avenged his loss from the 2020 Russian Nationals finals to #5 Cherman Valiev by 5-0 win and Yarygin champion #3 Kurban Shiraev, but lost 6-5 to #2 Israil Kasumov in the world team trial wrestle-offs semis.

    Stanislav Svinoboev took bronze at the Junior World Championships after a semifinal loss to 74 KG U-23 European champion #11 (INT) Dzhabrail Gadzhiev (AZE). 2020 Russian Nationals bronze medalist Ruslan Zhendaev finished as runner-up to #14 (INT) Zurab Iakobishvili (GEO) at The Medved.

    2016 Baku GGP runner-up Gitinomagomed Gadzhiev (AZE) beat 2014 61 KG Russian Nationals bronze medalist Murad Nukhadiev 10-6 at the Volnik League 5 event.



    74 KG

    #1 Zaurbek Sidakov won the Olympics over 2020 79 KG European champion #2 (INT) Magomedkhabib Kadimagomedov (BLR) by a 7-0 decision. Sidakov takes the match series now 2-1 over Kadimagomedov with wins over the Dagestani transfer at the 2017 Yarygin and the 2021 Olympics, while Kadimagomedov beat Sidakov in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Russian National championships. Sidakov's path to the finals saw him beat two-time world bronze medalist #18 (INT) Bekzod Abdurakhmanov (UZB), two-time Asian champion Daniyar Kaisanov (KAZ) and 6x African championships gold medalist Augusto Midana (GBS). After his triumph in Tokyo, Sidakov has now won three straight World/Olympic titles and has not lost to an International opponent Gadzhimurad Omarov of Azerbaijan, in the 2017 70 KG U23 European championships finals.

    Magomed Dibirgadzhiev made his return to the rankings at #9 after upsetting European champion #4 (INT) Taimuraz Salkazanov (SVK) in the semifinals of The Medved. Dibirgadzhiev finished runner-up to #12 (INT) Azamat Nurikov (BLR). Why Dibirgadzhiev can't climb high even with a win over #4 (INT) Taimuraz Salkazanov (SVK) is because he has no wins against anyone in the domestic field and has losses to #2 Razambek Zhamalov, #3 Timur Bizhoev, #4 Magomedrasul Gazimagomedov, #6 Aznaur Tavaev and #7 Nikita Suchkov. Idar Khatanov took 5th at the Junior World Championships after losses to Turan Bayramov (AZE) and #20 (INT) Keegan O'Toole (USA).

    Three-time Russian Nationals bronze medalist #4 Timur Bizhoev locked up the world team spot with decisive victories over past world champions Gazimagomedov and #5 Magomed Kurbanaliev. #5 Magomed Kurbanaliev beat Ali Aliev champion #7 Nikita Suchkov 2-1 in the world team trials wrestle-offs semis before losing to Bizhoev in the finals.

    2021 Russian Nationals bronze medalist #3 Radik Valiev locked up the world team spot with wins over 2021 Russian Nationals champion #1 Malik Shavaev and 2019 world bronze medalist Gadzhi Nabiev. Valiev climbs up two spots in the rankings to #1, while Nabiev returns to the rankings at #2 for avenging his loss from the 2020 Russian Nationals championships to #2 Akhmed Usmanov in the semifinals of the world team wrestle-offs by way of a 6-2 win.
    2020 Russian Nationals bronze medalist #5 Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov beat former #2 (INT) Nika Kentchadze (GEO) in the finals of The Medved. Unranked Magomed Magomaev, a 2020 Junior Russian National champion, returns to the rankings #5 for his upset over former #1 (INT) Akhsarbek Gulaev (SVK) at the Medved on his way to taking bronze.

    Alik Badtiev failed to place at the Junior World Championships after a 5-2 quarterfinal loss to 2020 Senior Asian championships runner-up Baliyan Gourav (IND). 2018 74 KG Junior world bronze medalist David Betanov finished runner-up to 2018 74 KG U-23 world runner-up Maxim Vasilioglu (ROU).




    86 KG

    #1 Artur Naifonov took bronze at the Olympics after falling to eventual runner-up #2 (INT) Hassan Yazdani Charati (IRI) 7-1 in the semifinals. Naifonov's path to bronze saw him beat the likes of #7 (INT) Javrail Shapiev (UZB), #12 (INT) Osman Gocen (TUR), and #14 (INT) Boris Makoev (SVK).

    2017 74 KG Russian Nationals runner-up Alan Zaseev made a successful 86 KG debut at The Medved, taking gold with wins over three-time Russian Nationals bronze medalist #8 Arsenali Musalaliev and Ada Bagomedov. Zaseev debuts in the rankings at #7. Islam Kartoev took bronze at the Junior world championships.

    #1 Artur Naifonov beat #2 Dauren Kurugliev 3-2 in the world team trial wrestle-offs to get the chance to earn his right to compete for his third World/Olympic medal at the world championships in Oslo, Norway.



    92 KG

    2021 Russian Nationals champion #1 Magomed Kurbanov locked up the world team spot with wins over #5 Soslan Ktsoev and #8 Azamat Zakuev in the world team wrestle-offs. Zakuev climbed up six spots in the rankings to #2 after upsetting 2021 Russian Nationals runner-up #2 Anzor Urishev 5-1 in the world team wrestle-offs before losing in the finals 5-0 to #1 Magomed Kurbanov.

    Nurgun Sergin took bronze at The Medved after a loss to 2019 world bronze medalist #14 Irakli Mtsituri (GEO). Sergin notched the biggest win of his career when he beat 86 KG European runner-up Sandro Aminashvili (GEO) in the first round of repechage on his way to taking bronze over Alman Kerimov. Ivan Kirillov took 5th at the Junior world championships after losses to Rocky Elam (USA) and Pruthviraj Patil (IND).



    97 KG

    Five-time World/Olympic champion #1 Abdulrashid Sadulaev won his second Olympic title and sixth World/Olympic gold medal in impressive fashion with a 6-3 victory over defending Olympic champion #2 (INT) Kyle Snyder (USA) in the finals. Sadulaev's path to the finals saw the Avar Tank beat a trio of past World/Olympic medalists #3 (INT) Reineris Salas Perez (CUB), #5 Sharif Sharifov (AZE) and #6 Elizbar Odikadze (GEO).

    2020 Russian Nationals bronze medalist Shamil Musaev returns to the rankings at #4 after winning The Medved over Maxim Tolmachev. Musaev takes the #4 spot after beating Ashkab Boltukaev in the semifinals after Boltukaev had notched two huge wins over Olympians #14 (INT) Aleksandr Hushtyn (BLR) and Mamed Ibragimov (KAZ). Musaev was also able to earn a 10-2 win over 2019 125 KG Alans champion Batraz Gazzaev at the Volnik League 5 event. 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Magomed Ibragimov (UZB) beat Shamil Imam Aliev 11-0 at the Volnik League 5 event.

    Two-time Russian Nationals runner-up Aslanbek Sotiev won the Ion Cornianu Memorial tournament over Evtimov Tsvetan (BUL). Soslan Dzhagaev failed to place at the Junior world championships after a quarterfinal loss to Ali Abdollahi (IRI).



    125 KG

    #1 Sergey Kozyrev lost in his opening round match to 2018 world runner-up #4 (INT) Zhiwei Deng (CHN) at The Olympics and failed to place. In a loaded field for the world team wrestle-offs Ali Aliyev champion
    #6 Zelimkhan Khizriev used wins over 2021 Russian Nationals bronze medalist Saypudin Magomedov, 2020 Russian Nationals champion #2 Shamil Sharipov and 2020 European championships bronze medalist Baldan Tsyzhipov to lock up the world team spot.

    Baldan Tszyhipov upset #1 Sergey Kozyrev 4-0 in his opening match before taking out 2020 97 KG Russian Nationals bronze medalist Erik Dzhioev 9-0 to make the wrestle-off finals opposite Ali Aliyev champion Khizriev where he fell 8-6. Dzhioev upset two-time Russian Nationals champion #3 Anzor Khizriev 4-4 in his opening match before losing 9-0 in the semis to Baldan Tsyzhipov. From the world team trials wrestle-offs, Khizriev climbs up five spots to take #1, Tsyzhipov returns to the rankings at #2 and 2020 97 KG Russian Nationals bronze medalist Dzhioev debuts at #5.

    Said Gairbekov took bronze at The Medved after a loss to #9 (INT) Dzianis Khramiankov (BLR). Andrei Bestaev took bronze at the Junior World Championships over Wyatt Hendrickson (USA) after a loss to champion Ali Akbarpourkhordouni (IRI). 2020 Russian Nationals champion Alan Khugaev has been removed from the rankings due to inactivity. Yarygin silver medalist Khamzat Khizriev and Yarygin bronze medalist Vitali Goloev return to the rankings at #9 and #10.

    2021 70 KG Russian Nationals runner-up #11 Evgheni Zherbaev moves up three spots in the rankings to #8 for beating #9 Israil Kasumov and #13 David Baev in the 70 KG world team wrestle-offs. #22 Akhmed Chakaev moved up seven spots in the rankings to #15 for tech falling #14 Abdulmazhid Kudiev 10-0 in the world team trials wrestle-offs. New additions to the pound-for-pound rankings are Magomed Kurbanov at #22, Radik Valiev at #23, Zelimkhan Khizriev at #24 and Gadzhi Nabiev at #25. Kurbanov holds the #1 spot at 92 KG, Valiev and Khizriev the top spots at 79 KG and 125 KG and Nabiev the #2 man at 79 KG.
