    Red dominates Black in St. Cloud State intrasquad match

    St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State Wrestling team made its debut under first year head coach on Saturday, November 11, in an intersquad meet at Halenbeck Hall with the Cardinal Red team dominating action over the Black squad 29-9.

    Two exhibition matches started the meet highlighted with first year wrestler Brady Routh pinning Regional Placer, Tom Messerli, with 16 seconds left in the overtime minute of match.

    Big wins for the Red squad included bouts by All-American Matt Steffenson who controlled his match against veteran Tom Anderson, winning 12-5. A junior transfer, Nick Wilkes, man-handled Jairo Sandoval in an 18-5 decision over the Miami native.

    The Huskies will begin their regular season on Saturday, November 11 at the Dakota Wesleyan University Open, bouts beginning at 9:00 a.m.
