The Vikings will have five matches in the next seven days. After Wednesday's match versus Oregon, Portland State heads for the Midwest. The Vikings will compete against South Dakota State (1-8), Friday, then take on Moorhead State (11-6) and North Dakota State (9-8) on Saturday. The Vikings will then wrap up their regular season on Monday at Utah Valley State (6-11).
Portland State is 22-52-5 all-time against Oregon. The Vikings have lost the past 20 duals to Oregon. The last Portland State victory over the Ducks came in 1987. Wednesday's match will be the second-to-last Oregon wrestling match before the programs termination.
Portland State has a 0-3 record against South Dakota State, including a 38-3 loss last season. Then, freshman Keena Washington was the only Viking to pick up a win.
Saturday will mark the first meeting between Portland State and Moorhead State.
The Vikings have accumulated a 0-3 all-time record against the North Dakota State Bison. In their last meeting, North Dakota State edged out the Vikings, 37-6, in 2006.
Portland State will be trying to get its' first win against Utah Valley State as well. The Vikings are 0-4 all-time against the Wolverines, including a 26-19 loss last year.
Overall the Vikings have a combined record of 22-62-5 against this week's opponents.
Following the weeks competition the Vikings will have two weeks off before they send their qualified wrestlers off to the Pac-10 Championships hosted by the University of Oregon.
