The victory was ASU's ninth of the year and marked the programs first 9-1 start since 1990.
No. 12 Brandon Courtney (125) got things started off for ASU with a 14-8 decision over Oregon State's Brandon Kaylor. The Beavers won the next three individual bouts to take a 9-3 lead in the dual.
No. 22 Jacori Teemer (157) pinned his opponent in just 42 seconds, good enough for his first pin of his Sun Devil career and the fastest fall by an ASU wrestler this season. Teemer's win was enough to even things out in the dual at 9-9 and return momentum in ASU's favor heading into intermission.
No. 6 Josh Shields (165) followed up with a 6-point win of his own, pinning his opponent in 3:46 to see the Sun Devils pull ahead, 15-9. It was the 12th career pin and second this season for Shields.
No. 8 Anthony Valencia (174) earned his seventh bonus-point win of the season with a 20-4 tech fall over Jason McKinney. After dropping the bout at 184 lbs., No. 16 Kordell Norfrleet (197) and No. 4 Tanner Hall (HWT) earned consecutive decision victories to round out the night's action.
The Sun Devils won six of the night's ten individual bouts, with three wins coming by bonus points.
Next up, the Sun Devils continue Pac-12 competition hosting Stanford at Desert Financial Arena, Friday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m on Pac-12 Network. Before the match, head coach Zeke Jones will honor the seniors from his first recruiting class at ASU.
