Nationally ranked teams such as No. 2 Illinois, No. 3 Michigan, No. 8 Wisconsin, No. 11 Cornell, No. 15 Missouri, No. 18 Arizona State, No. 19 Hofstra, No. 22 Edinboro and No. 25 Penn will take part in the two-day tournament. Action begins Friday at 9 a.m., with weigh-ins starting at 7 a.m. in the Cashman Center.
"This tournament allows us to wrestle against some people who we would never see otherwise," said Ohio head coach Joel Greenlee. "I think we really made some gains in the last week. I'm excited to see how our guys will do against national competition."
Ohio will have its starter in all the weight divisions except two. True freshman Kent Smith will replace junior 165-pounder Vinny DiGiovanni, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury. At heavyweight, senior Dave Campbell will compete instead of junior Marcus Adelman, who injured his leg at the Northeast Duals last Saturday.
America's Wrestling Radio will offer complete coverage, results and play-by-play of the event. Fans can tune in to the free broadcast at Takedownradio.com.
Complete match-by-match results for each Bobcat wrestler will be posted on ohiobobcats.com as soon as they become available.
