Today, the NCAA released a list of host sites for over 240 national tournaments across most of the sports they sponsor. Wrestling being one of those sports.
The DI NCAA Championship tournament will head back to its unofficial home site in St. Louis, Missouri for the 2027 tournament. The familiar Enterprise Center will be the venue and the University of Missouri will serve as the host school.
The more interesting note is that Minneapolis, Minnesota will get another shot at hosting in 2028. The 2020 tournament was supposed to be held at the Minnesota Vikings home stadium, US Bank Stadium; however, the tournament was canceled at the onset of the Covid pandemic. US Bank Stadium would have been the largest venue to host the NCAA wrestling championships.
In addition, some DII and DIII sites were announced as well.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the Alliant Energy PowerHouse will host the 2027 DII tournament - hosted by Upper Iowa.
The 2028 DII tournament will make its way to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The University of Pittsburgh's Petersen Events Center will be the host site.
The 2027 DIII tournament has not been awarded, but the 2028 tournament will come back to La Crosse, Wisconsin's, La Crosse Center.
