Yesterday, the NCAA announced the at-large berths who rounded out the NCAA field of 330. This practice typically ignites social media debate regarding who got snubbed or which conference should (or shouldn’t) get more at-larges.
To dig more deeply into the subject, we’ve looked at at-large berths for the last ten years. Which teams have received the most? What is the greatest number a single team has received in that year?
For those that may not necessarily care much about at-larges, there were four wrestlers who received at-large berths in 2025 who made the NCAA podium. Two finished fourth. Within the last decade, we even have a national champion and a national runner-up who got their starts from an at-large berth.
